Chris DeGarmo and Geoff Tate were hosts on the Headbangers Ball show yet again, and this time the show also had a special segment from one of their shows in London. The segment includes some interviews as well as song footage shot both in rehearsal, as well as live during the actual show. I ran the video through some filters to clean it up. It didn't really need it that badly, but the end result is slightly better - plus I EQ'd the audio so it actually has some mid/high frequencies!
Enjoy!

Me too! It's so weird without Goeff, and now without Scott...there are now only two original members. No disrespect to Todd he does a good job, but it's just not the same.

@@SteveKaynan I agree now that Scott is gone but seriously.....Chris brought so much to the band and when he left that was worse than Tate leaving. They were one if the very few bands that each member brought something unique to the table. Stand in front of Eddie for two hours.....his little dance moves and never missing as note. When they all began to use head mics that truly let them entertain and they will tell you they learned that from my GODS.....KISS on the Animalize tour.

Think about it....they opened in the Justice tour and we're just as amazing as Metallica that tour. To me that era, moment in time in metal ..were top 3 EVER tour packages ever to grace a stage. They never got booked off a stage opening for Metallica because of the talent, the songs, the performance and they used MTV, NOT the other way around. Rage for Order was revolutionary NO ONE was writing that kind of stuff

I can’t believe this was 30 years ago. I actually remember my mom going to Musicland and getting me this cassette with my work money. I was a senior in high school, and I played this album so much in 91 and 92. The nostalgia makes me sad because shit, we all get old...And sad because this once great band imploded so badly. But man Geoff Tate was so gorgeous back then...

@@crushedorchids Yeah, I noticed it too. He looked so handsome in the years from the first album till empire, but then he started looking bloated and heavy, then back to normal. I get that we all age but I think he’s an off again in again drunk

There were so often times back then when Geoff and Chris looked at each other like they were in love with each other, in both interviews and live shows. The thumbnail for this video is a great example of this.

I remember watching this on TV back then!!. I was more into the RHCP, Soundgarden, Faith No More around 1988. I was sitting in class in highschool and my friend had Operation Mind Crime on cassette in his Walkman and I heard a bit of it in study hall and asked it I could borrow it and I've been hooked ever since. Love all there albums up until Chris Degarmo left.

You can absolutely tell these guys are physically tired at this point of the tour. Look at Geoff’s performance on the Auburn Hills, Michigan show...he’s throwing himself all over the stage. Not so much in this footage. And what’s with Wilton? I know he loves his marijuana (I actually seen an autographed photo of him at an Amsterdam smoke shop around 1995-96). Anyhow, he looks uptight as hell. Or stoned. Thank you for all of your contributions!!! They really document the rise and decline of one of my all time favorite bands.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure the "live" footage was actually shot during soundcheck or rehearsal for the show - not the actual live show :)

@@jeffeyvillarreal1668 Yeah, his style is sort of like Bruce Dickinson's, in that he tends to use head voice very low in his register, which gave him a huge range for a while. The difference is, Bruce strikes a balance with a well-supported chest voice, so for him it's been far more healthy and sustainable, but Geoff never really did that.

CHRIS ABSLUTE CLASS I loved the Empire tour and Suicidal and their pizza party was AWESOME. However what would have been THE BEST??? "AN EVENING WITH QR" Fist set sonsgs off Empire Rage Warning and the EP. Second set Mindcrime. Rage and Warning ignored way too much. The ONLY piece of music I wish they never did as the original band was that horrile Cats Stevens song
