Before Promised Land was released EMI, Queensryche's record label at the time, put out this short promotional video. While some of it was included on the Promised Land CD-Rom video game, some portions were omitted.

Wow - seeing Degarmo sing Bridge really is just amazing/moving. Great album.

promised land is the most creative work they've put out!unique arrangements,extremely well written lyrics,progressive compositions that never tire,excellent instrument playing plus really personal but also globally reflecting concept!all these come together to create a monumental album!

I listen to music from so many genres, and appreciate all great music. This album is by far the one that I’ve played the most. An absolute masterpiece, the top of the highest mountain this band could climb. There was only one way from here, unfortunately. They’ve put together many a great track after this but never such a complete, satisfying and mind blowing entity as the Promised Land was.

So not true. Lol. Close minded. HITNF was amazing. Fresh. Not the same old thing. Q2K and tribe were fantastic records as well. I think their new stuff is horrible

Their best work is behind them at this point. No one will recognize anything new they do when they have such an established history of great songs.

I've never seen this before, excellent, thanks for posting. It's interesting, Wilton say's "there's a new vibe in the Queensryche camp", which I find ironic considering what's happening currently. GT also talks about everyone having different visions and that the band really came together on a couple of songs. To me Degarmo writing "Disconnected" in a way foretold things to come.........
@perstromberg14915 жыл бұрын
Though I believe it was Scott who wrote most of the music for Disconnected and Geoff the lyrics. And Geoff stated that the lyrics was how much we as humans have disconnected from nature, by destroying the world that we live in.

Promised land is one of the GREATEST albums in HM history ! Operation Mindcrime is a small child compared to this album ! There's special magic and beauty in this album !

for me, Queensrych died when Chris left the band. Im a huge Tate fan, I think he is the Best vocalist I have ever heard but the way he is recorded now sucks and Chris complimented Geoff's singing perfectly. they need a take rest, for a year or two regroupe and get Degarmo back.

Very cool. First time I've seen this bit of footage. I'm anxious to check out the interview with Geoff & Chris for the 20th Anniversary of Empire. Promised Land was a great follow up to Empire!

For the record, the police sirens heard behind Scott at 3:43 are not actually behind him live at that moment on location. They are from the intro to the track 'Disconnected' from the Promised Land album which is starting up as he is talking about being removed from the buzz of the city. Sort of ironic maybe, but if you know the sirens are from that song it's very fitting to what he is explaining.

While I think the album is a phenomenal piece of work that I can listen to over & over again, I thought the promotion of the album absolutely sucked once it was released. I would never have released I Am I first, followed by Bridge and Dis Con Nec Ted. Taken individually, the songs just didn't have the mainstream appeal to grab people's attention like the Empire album did. I would have released My Global Mind first, followed by One More Time, Out of Mind, Damaged, and Someone Else.

Funny, at 3:43, he's talking about doing things in an organic way, being removed from the city, but there's clearly police sirens in the background. Hah.

Was it really recorded in the kitchen of a cabin? If so, it just shows how little the physical environment ultimately makes in the sound. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I saw them on the Promised Land tour and it will never be forgotten. The final two songs of the album are epic...

I love this album, but I don't think it's Heavy Metal or Hard Rock. For me this is pure Progressive Rock, like Pink Floyd, Yes, or Genesis

Si Bridge la hubiera cantado Chris DeGarmo seria mucho mas exitosa porque le paso a él! Pero Geoff Tate tiene una voz magnífica! Porqué no regresan Todos? Chris puede volar cuando él quiera! Geoff pídele perdon a Chris y a Queensryche! La mejor banda del mundo! Michael Wilton y Eddie Jackson siguen al pie del cañon, Gracias!
