enemies-to-lovers is the single most greatest (fan)fictional trope of all time. make it college soccer or college roommates and my weak sapphic heart explodes into a million gay little screams. (i love this video and i'm definitely gonna check all of these books out!!)

I really really like The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie, it's about a girl who's kidnapped by a pirate crew because she knows how to tame some sea monsters and obviously falls in love with the girl who took her to the ship. And Style by Chelsea M. Cameron is a very light story about a straight-As student and a cheerleader who despise each other but are paired for a school project.

The Abyss Surrounds Us is on my tbr and I just KNOW that I'm going to love it! It's sounds 100% like my cup of tea. Also a fun coincidence! My patreons chose Style for me to read this month and I had no idea it's hate to love. Thank you! I'm even more excited now.

You mentioned all mine :) - Her Royal Highness, Red White & Royal Blue, and Carry On. I want to read Tell Me How You Really Feel so badly! I have it on my TBR. And I will probably add more of these since I like so many of them. Thanks for sharing!

All For The Game (the foxhole court) got me out of a reading slump cause it was so good, before sending me right back into a slump because I literally couldn’t force myself to read anything after that emotional roller coaster. I literally needed 3 months to recover before I could pick up another book.

THANK U FOR THIS! ENEMIES TO LOVERS IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE TROPE!!! I guess my comment is kinda late but my favourite lgbtq+ enemies to lovers book is actually "KIDNAPPED BY THE PIRATE" by Keira Andrews! She also has written many other gay romances, so make sure to check these too:)) It also has a happy ending and although there are lots of spicy scenes the plot is actually pretty interesting, so I am highly recommending this to ya'll!

Enemies to lovers is truly unmatched! Tbh I DNFed Kidnapped by the Pirate (the age difference in a context of a queer relationship and the connotations associated with it were too much for me) but I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I love you for this! Honestly, when it's done well, hate to love is one of the best tropes out there. Would "Leah on the Offbeat" be considered hate to love? It starts with a rocky relationship that turns into a romance and that's what I'm here for, but the characters are in the same friendgroup already, so it's probably just hate to love-ish? "The Abyss Surrouns Us" is definitely hate to love though. It's a sci fi novel about a girl that is abducted by pirates to train some sort of artificial sea monster and falls in love with one of the pirates in the process. Also, I was positively surprised by both the pirates and the main character, who is not very heroic and selfless, which is refreshing!

It's up there with fake marriage/fake dating trope they both take the cake! I think Leah on the Offbeat has some hate yo love undertones but isn't exactly the same, they are kind of friends after all. I think in Simon they were more hate to love-ish. But I'm very there for The Abyss Surrouns Us and gonna read it soon, hopefully.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Captive Prince! To me it is the textbook definition of hate to love 😅 I have read most of the books you recommended, which definitely shows how trash I am for this trope 🙈 I'll definitely have to check out Cat Sebastian because these historical romances sound amazing!
@BooksWaffles5 жыл бұрын
+Raphaelle D well Captive Prince is such a difficult rec. It’s hard to be sure if people are going to enjoy it (most probably won’t) and decided to make this video pretty universal, but agree that it’s one of the best enemies to lovers. Cat Sebastian is brilliant and I love her. She’s going to publish an f/f romance soon, and I cannot wait! Also any recs?🤔
