Great explanation... I've been wanting to like a new R.K. game for awhile and looks like this is the one! Very clever yet simple dynamics of deck building, race, nice mechanic of how new cards are chosen. Looks like I'll be adding this one shortly, will be great to play with my family/friend group! Ty

Welcome to modern boardgaming :) Unfortunately I have some bad news for you though, I stopped making reviews like this over a year ago. I am now focused on creating tutorial style full playthroughs, but I do still give my subjective opinion on new games I play in a monthly impressions vlog.

Just sorted by new wondering if anybody has asked if you were going to do a playthrough/review of Heroes and Hexes, the games new expansion. Certainly didn't expect to see you to reply to a comment on a nearly 2 year old video, very cool of you. Absolutely love your videos by the way.

At this point I don't see a playthrough of the expansion happening unfortunately. I don't have a copy and I only have so much time to make these videos so I tend to focus on creating them for totally new games instead of revisiting older ones with expansions. Thanks for the compliment, it's always great to hear that someone enjoys my videos :)

Seems like a simplified mechanic but more complicated map versio of Lewis and Clark. is it different enough worthy to buy? I really like Lewis and Clark..

This game takes ~45 minutes, while L&C I feel like take 2+ hours with 4 people. LC is much more complicated.

I would say so. LC has that rhythm to it where you have to rest, while El Dorado has an escalation like most deckbuilders right up until the end. Also, there's no resource management in El Dorado. I like El Dorado much more but would hardly compare the two. El Dorado in my mind was just a comparison to Clank (and El Dorado wins IMO).

Idk about 18 cards being too low for a deckbuilder. Dominion uses 10.

Theres a big difference though because Dominion has 25 different cards in the box and you choose a random 10 out of those which provides a ridiculous number of combinations vs El Dorado which has the same exact 18 in each game.
