This is one of those series of movies where they are all very good. There are 4 Bourne movies with Matt Damon, which you should do all 4, and one with Jeremy Renner, which is good also, but doesnt hit the same without Matt. They are all based on the novels of Jason Bourne, and the next 3 featuring Matt Damon, are all directed by the same Director, so they keep the theme through the next 3. Absolutely watch them.

The one with Jeremy Renner, is actually not bad, and still is consistent with the lore. I would watch it in release order, meaning between Ultimatum and Jason Bourne to keep the right timeline.

Agree, but the Jeremy Renner one was better than I think I a lot of people give it credit for. I think it's a miracle they made a movie that no one really hated(in fact we all agree was really good) that was part of the Bourne saga without having Bourne in it.

Bourne is one of those rare movies where the whole trilogy is good. Man I miss the early 2000's, it was just banger after banger. Not just movies either but music and games too. What an awesome time to be a teenager. Take me back =(

There is actually FIVE Jason Bourne movies. People refer to it as a trilogy because the first three were made under the original creator's watchful eye and met his approval. They are in many regards focused solely on Bourne's origins and the program that created him. The fourth focuses on the legacy of Bourne & Black Briar (the program mentioned at the end). The Fifth, which is admittedly my favorite, returns to basics in the sense that its about Bourne himself once again and you get to witness what he is fully capable of.

Great fun reaction! All of them are really good BUT don't neglect the 4th one starring Jeremy Renner! It's a great watch. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. In fact while I truly love them all - the 4th is the only one I own and rewatch the most. It's the same vibe but Renner is more endearing and relatable in IMHO. Plus there is one great appearance by an actor before they got big.... Speaking of - the agent Bourne killed in the field was the great and gorgeous Clive Owen before HE made is big.❤

I only need a sick day every couple years or so but when I do I always binge watch all of the Bourne movies back to back. I usually end up napping on and off the whole time though. It's my sick day ritual. Some warm soup and movies from when I was a kid always makes me feel better. It's the comfort of nostalgia I guess.

Unquestionably one of the best spy franchises. Although James Bond (007) and Ethan Hunt (IMF) were cool. But Jason Bourne was more my speed for being so flawed, reluctant, relatable and stoic. The novel series by Robert Ludlum debuted in the year I was born (45 years ago) with The Bourne Identity. The very-first screen adaptation was a tv movie with Richard Chamberlain & Jaclyn Smith (1988). Matt Damon getting his own franchise, 5 years after winning an Academy Award for GWH and months after the start of the Oceans' reboot (2001-2007). Everything is considered in how he defends, evades, protects, investigates and prepares to uncover his own truth. His foes, would-be allies and former superiors discover that there is nothing more dangerous than the man they trained with nothing to lose. So great from start to finish and more of an traditional approach to the genre. I have the special edition from 2004 with alternate beginning and ending that makes the story more complex. There was a video-game in 2008 called The Bourne Conspiracy on PS3/Xbox 360. It was a retelling of the first movie and kinda fun. The next 2 films (2004, 2007) are incredible. The 3rd film (2012) with Jeremy Renner is not liked very much. But was a decent enough sequel to me. The 4th film (2016) with Damon's return as Bourne, regardless of the years gone by since we've seen him is phenomenal. Non-franchise films that were inspired by the original novel, The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) and Jackie Chan's Who Am I? (1998).
