Oh Jose, so sorry to hear about little Nathan, I believe he will be fine as you guys in the US know how to treat it. Here in Aussie they try to tell us that our Kangaroo ticks do not carry Lyme disease, but there are many people here who get sick with the same symptoms. I believe that one of our tennis players, Samantha Stoser contracted this disease, it had a dramatic effect on her tennis, but she says she was lucky because she was living in the US at the time and got good treatment. Here's hoping Nathan is able to get on top of it very soon, poor little bloke. Best wishes.

José, wanted to let you know how much I've learned from you about fine art printing as well as printer maintenance over the years. I just bought a 3880 that's an exceptionally good condition. What I'm interested in doing based on your video is to purchase OEM K3 ink cartridges and extract the ink and inject them into the refillable carts that are currently in the new printer. From your experience will that work? I also would like to purchase OEM HDR carts and extract the ink input that ink into some of the other refillable carts in the printer. I don't want to mix the inks but use them in separate carts. Will that have any major negative effect quality of my prints depending on the type paper I use? Thanks again for your good counsel!

Thank you Jose for covering 3800/3880 ink cartridges, maybe this will help you to determine what is the problem with 3 cartridges not resetting. I wrote you last week about this problem but I did not mention that only new resetter (one without alignement frame) turned green on those cartridges but the other type which I bought recently (blue with alignenent frane) did not flash green only stayed red. Wouldn't this mean that problem is with cartridge chips and not printer firmware? Maybe buying older cartridge (older expiration day) will let you reset them?

That could very well be the problem. I currently have some pretty new carts that will test that theory on and will get back to you.

Sorry JR but if you remember I asked about the cleaning of the R1900 and followed your instructions to get the heads clean/unglog and as I posted previously it all worked except the the Orange still has 3 X small gaps in the nozzle check so my question is do the heads have to be 100% clean or will those 3 X small missing not really make a great differance, I can try another clean but worried if I do I will muck up the work already done. Thanks again. Russ

NO. make a print containing all colors including the red orange yellow zones and use the highest quality. You should see if there are any problems. Those three nozzles are probably irreversibly plugged or damaged! My 3800 has three magenta damaged nozzles. No problem on prints.

hi Jose. I hope you are OK. I wonder if you can help me. I own a 3880 for 7 years now. It has been ON for that time with almost NO use (200 letter prints so far). I bought INKOWL cartriges and inks. It works fine but I notice that even though I dont use it the inks runs out little by little. What do you think is going on? like I said the printer is "NEW". you told me before to leave ON even though I dont use that much. please help. Maybe I should TURN IT OFF so the heads go into a lock position and it seals so the ink does not runs out? just a thought.

Your carts may be slow leaking. Remember that the 3880 pressurizes the carts.

Hi Jose, I bought a replacement 3880 that has never been unpacked before, totally new, with all the inks. Question: can I put the good, half-full older cartridges from the broken printer into the brand new one, before starting in with the new inks?
@cheo19496 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that it takes a lot of ink to initiate and prime the printer. So it might not even let you do it with only half level carts.

Thank you so much....I'll keep my fingers crossed but won't hope for much.

I hope your grandson Nathan is alright today. Sir I have two sets of IJM carts, and because of the high price of their pigmented inks , I would like for a while to use my second set of carts and fill them with their cheaper dye inks. Most of my actual pigmented inks carts are half to practically filled, with a few needing to be refill . If I take them out what is their expected shelf life ? Thanks

Nathan is doing well. Thank you! Officially inks should be used withing 6 month from the date you unseal them. But we all know they will last well over a year.
