Dear parents, don't let your children be alone with other relatives like uncles, cousins etc. Never ever let them sleep near them, especially boys. Don't allow any elder male relative to sleep with your male child, this is often taken lightly but boys also get sexually abused. Teach them about good and bad touch. Encourage children to open up.

exactly, when things like this go down you just ask yourself where are the parents? especially the fathers? #1 rule as a man is to protect your family and being unaware is not an excuse.. my parents never let me do sleep overs and what not and alhumdulilah they did not because I most definitely will pay that forward if Allah blesses me with children.

No- dear parents, raise your boys to not be violent, or rapists. Educate your boys on how to better manage their emotions, educate your girls on being fierce, confident, physically and mentally.

It’s sad how this wisdom continues to go past the heads of current and new parents. Especially in this filthy era we live in. People are so caught up in the rat race that they have no time to supervise their children, but even worse are the school systems that encourage degeneracy

Bro what's wrong with you? Uncles are mahrams. Of course you can leave your daughters in your brother's house. What you're saying is just a stupid amount of suspicion. By your logic, a mother shouldn't let her child near his/her father as he might rape. You're being more careful than Allah wants. You And your point about boys is also totally stupid. You want to raise them like babies. Of course they can be alone in their cousins' or friends' houses. Thats just how life works. You don't need to be this careful. Boys are boys and they need to live like boys not like cowards.

In Desi households it's more common...like very much... and the child starts to think that it is normal and it is what every uncle does and they start to think that they're meant to be allowing and loving everybody..اوزوباللہ...There are kids who think its okay to let uncles place hands on their private area and scroll through phones, watch tv,read etc in private....اوزوباللہ...May Allah give strength to all of us and Help us... Remember Allah is always with us and he in his Majesty is ENOUGH for us...Hasbunallahu wa niamal wakeel Thank you Shaikh Yassir Qadhi...You lecture have helped me a lot of time.... Alhamdulillah... This is a topic that needs to be discussed more. It happens within the Muslim community, but given the stigma that often exists around this, especially if you're a female, who'd probably end up being blamed for it or accused of lying etc it just gets brushed under the carpet.

Some Shaykh had to dare. No surprise, Shaykh Yasir Qadhi, you did. We are grateful to you and are confident your lecture benefit the victims and, actually, everyone. Our heart goes out to the victims who need strong faith in the justice of The Just 3azza wa jal, who need much love and support from family and friends. Unfortunately, confinding in someone is not, i guess, an easy step to take in such a case. I really hope that after listening to this lecture, they can find the necessary strength to seek help and take the right decision. Sisters and brothers who are going through this suffering, may Allah 3azza wa jal be your best wakiil and best friend. Ameen.

Thank you so much sk YQ for this long over due subject. One imam (Wali Muhammed from Belgravia) managed Manipulate local Bangali mosque rivalry against each other to keep him as imam for years even after him being exposed nationally in daily mail online! Going into alliance with a group of cheats and rival community members organising eid salah and in 4 years managed to build influence and attract popular sheik like Alomgir Ali to join the alliance up-till most recent Eid jamat where the local hall management (church) finally distant them self and stoped the event on Eid day leaving their 300+ traitors walking tail between their legs to the actual mosque (5mins walk) whom they have rivalry with!! Unfortunately problem isn’t so much the perpetrator, it is people allowing business as usual with the perpetrator, because as saying goes “it a mans world”!!

I’d like to ask sk Yasir Qadi, if the perpetrator is a local imam and never regretted his action and goes on further manipulate locals saying 13yr old victim was lying and mosque committee just take his word without making any effort to find out victims side, is it halal for victim or her family to ask Allah to remove him from leading any future jamah.or teaching Quran in any masjid (or from in his home)??? What if he is a good reciter and that’s all he knows? My argument is, generally if think of an evil person then we can hope (and make dua ) one day he may find deen he will change, but when someone is already is in knowledge of Islam and it wasn’t enough to change him, but made him more arrogant (doing what he did), better for them to be removed from position of power!!

Jazakallahu khayran sheikh Yasir Qadhi. I'm not sure on the scholar landscape there but I feel Sheikh Yasir Qadhi does carry a huge burden for his people. In a Muslim country we have different people of different experiences focusing on different issues. It has its pros and cons of having too many sheikhs. I personally am more inclined to have only one sheikh that is just in his views and not have all these internal fightings on trivial matters to be frank.

Islam is very strong on not breaking ties of kinship because family is family and you never know you can help them on the deen. I will advise you to continue to talk to him if he is remorseful and you can use that time to give him Da’wah, he really commit a BIG sin but Allah is the FORGIVER. If it happen that he is not remorseful in that case I will stay away from him until he comes around. While you’re taking to him even if he is remorseful you can’t NEVER EVER leave your children or someone else children around him. Even if he became an imam one day. Shaytan is working full time so you never know it can happen again. PS: I’m not a Scholar I’m just a servant of Allah that have children of my own. May Allah forgive us.

Jazakallah khair Shekih, Please do not forget to mention the situation generically for reverts: - who have non Muslim family members - family members who’ve stayed from the deen Then, muslim brothers and sisters (reverts or not) with family members who follow culture over deen Insha’Allah I understand the topic you’re describing has touched you dearly but you have advised the sister well so do not need to regurgitate the same elements repeatedly, please focus on the other elements of the topic to enhance overall understanding for the ummah insha’Allah. The power of repetition for the statistics is powerful because those who do not want to listen or turn off: will. Statistics improve efficiently conveying your points of influence alhamdulillah. So sorry to read about your incident, the worst thing is the perpetrators carryon as normal, subcontinent people are too busy with home, Village, business politics so their morality is same level as animals (yet human are best of creation), like dr Yasir said, even the angle were complaining to allah “why creat human, they will corrupt the land”, but only thing I can say is Allah’s reply “I know what you know not”, remember Allah didn’t do this, it’s those evil cousin done this! You need to make a plan of action, you need to talk to someone trustworthy, then you need to block this thought temporary (maybe give an exact time period) then focus on improving yours self, learn new skills, then once you’re stronger then you can make better decision what is best action, I hope you find a way to be happier and then one day help others, Please never blame you self, NEVER!!
