The New York bodega staple, Chopped Cheese (aka: Chop Cheese) is a tasty sandwich originating from NYC. It’s a meaty and cheesy sandwich, and it's easy and quick to make in the air fryer! It requires very little ingredients, with most ingredients you most likely have! We will also talk a little about the history of this New York sandwich, which some people might compare with the Philly Cheese, but it's nothing like it, though maybe closer to a giant cheeseburger deluxe.

INGREDIENTS +++++++++++++++++++
- Approx. 1 lb Ground beef (Each sandwich would contain 5-7 ounces of meat)
- Salt and pepper
- Any seasonings of your choice (eg. Goya Adobo, Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning, etc.)
★ Above are seasonings for the ground beef before cooking)
- 1 chopped medium-sized onion
- 3-6 slices American Cheese
- iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced/shredded
- 1 large or 2 medium tomatoes sliced
- Mayonnaise
- Ketchup
- A hero/sub/grinder/hoagie “long” roll or half of Italian bread or baguette per sandwich. Any type of bun would work, but you may need two hamburger buns for the content of each sandwich.
