I'm using this as a reference for my 05 civic. I can definitely vouch for the Yonaka exhaust, sounds amazing. I would also suggest you get DC Sports headers (don't know if they make them anymore though) if you have the manual transmission.

we have a very very similar story. my dad surprised me with my 04 civic EX for 200$. my dad is a landscaper and we have happened to live near a college. he was mowing a professors yard. the prof approached my dad and asked him if he wanted 200$ for it bc his daughter had bought a newer car. it has 170k miles on it and it’s never had any problems, and it’s completely stock. first mod i plan on doing is adding a dual exhaust tip

on civics the best value for money mods which you should do first is handling get a suspension upgrade, wider and stickier tires+wheels next up should be a sport exhaust but atleast a sport muffler (get a resonator if you opt for a straight through fart pipe)

@@benruether8294 A large exhaust doesn’t hurt power. All the power gains happen at the header, and the rest of the exhaust is for sound and fume control. If the engine had two banks, then you could argue for a scavenging effect.

Idk Dorman makes plenty of products that fix known issues on the oem parts. And their LS truck intake is nearly a direct copy of the fast intake with a 3 bolt throttle body flange instead of the 4 bolt on the fast.

I reweld these manifolds. A rewelded OE catalytic converter will typically last longer than a cheap aftermarket unit. I've seen aftermarket cats fail after a year of normal driving, budget catalysts.

I’d love to have a longer rundown on the condition of the car before so like driving it and more commentary on how it feels just so that for someone like me who sees the before and after I can hear your commentary on the difference. 2. Thank you bro I just made a comment up above that's what I was saying they should have put headers to go with the full exhaust eliminate that s***** stock manifold with the catalytic converter!!!!! On top of that the other biggest mod on these is you do the d16ya intake manifold and get rid of that crappy intake manifold that would a true cold air intake header and full exhaust makes a nice difference on these i owned nothing but 90s Golden era Hondas but I had an 05 EX coupe with the single cam VTEC motor it was 5 speed And I'm telling you the ex model with the five-speed manual with the d16y intake manifold cold air intake a header a full exhaust stage 2 clutch and lighter flywheel was damn quick for a little daily driver mine came with the ex spoiler and the super rare hfp lip kit from the factory the hfp front lip rear lip and side skirts from Honda factory performance dealer options And that little single cam was quick that's the best thing you can do to these generations minus doing a kswap

I've said it before, but I love these quick builds because it feels like it could be a great primer for someone looking to build their first project car. If you swap out PT for a teenager who just got their license in the case of the neighbour wanting to give him a car he was going to scrap, this could easily be someone looking for a video like this to get them started.

I strongly disagree... I've seen cars loose 30HP over 150-160 total due to short air intake in the engine bay. If you just want the noise and the kit you bought doesn't fit just make it a bit longer and put the intake outside the bay. You can make stuff cheap AND right, you just have to put a bit of care into it.

@@MTrefry2 I'm glad it worked out well for you. I wasn't so lucky. I couldn't return it as I had to add 4 inch pipe to make it fit my car. I did return the headers. Yonaka head office is located in my city. They wouldn't accept a return in person. I has to send it back by DHL. The DHL warehouse is on the same road as Yonaka. I had to drive by Yonaka to get to DHL. One other reason why I wasn't impressed.

I have that same exhaust on my 2005 civic. Take the muffler off it sounds so much better trust me! Very low rumble and throaty, not weed wacker at all!

This *HAS* to be satire right? I can SEE the frame cracks as you install a barely not OEM exhaust header and 3 inch exhaust on a D17?! It sounds like a 30 year old emphysemic housecat with a hairball! Look, I love civics. Replacing the header is fine, it was damaged. The exhaust does mothing for your car as it is. Its to people who dont know a thing about cars. First thing you should have done is strip down the car, clean up the rust, and repair the frame. This can be done with hand tools, it just takes time, so claiming "not everyone can do it" is bullshit. If you have time to dedicate to "being a car guy", you can take basic precautions to ensure the multi-thousand pound block of metal powered by explosions you are modifying doesnt come apart and hurt other people. Frame & problems, suspension and handling, engine and exhaust, aesthetics. Theres your simple order of operations for car modding, in order of actual saftey importance. Someone please let me know if this is in fact parody and/or some idiot who goes through 3 cars a year becuase he destroys them all.
