Fun little wet on wet watercolor demo on painting clouds, shoreline, sky and a lighthouse using a paint lifting technique.

Arches 140lb Hot Press Paper for this Video.
My papers of choice include Arches and Fabriano 140lb Hot press and Cold press paper and Strathmore 500 series Sketchbooks. All are 100% cotton rag.
For beginners, I recommend starting with a high quality paper and experimenting with different types. As your style develops, you'll get a feel for which type is best. Waiting to switch to a better quality paper later will be much like learning to paint all over again.

I was concerned that you weren't posting anymore. Because of your posts, I've decided that there isn't much that can be done on a large sheet of 100% cotton paper, that can't be done on a piece of 5x7. I'm happy to say that I sent a card I did of the Birch tree I learned to draw from you, and the person framed it and hung it on their wall. Thanks again Peter for all the great posts, and the inspiration to paint small, but beautifully.
