Quick Pickled Bamboo Shoots Recipes | Pickled Chili Crispy Bamboo Shoot | How To Make Bamboo Shoot Pickle
▶ Ingredients :
● 700g Bamboo Shoot (peeled out of tough leaves)
● 1 bulb Garlic (blended)
● Red Chilies and Korean Chilies, to taste (blended)
● 1/2 cup Sugar
● 1 cup Water
● 1 tbsp Sea Salt
● 1/3 cup Vinegar
▶ Method:
1. Cut off the firm tip and bottom parts. Peel the tough leaves of the bamboo shoot to reveal the tender interior. Cut off the bumpy part from the outer layer.
2. Cut crosswise the bamboo shoot into 3 or 4 equal segments. Cut each segment in thinly slices and than cut them into thinly strips. Rinse for 1 or 2 times to ensure it's clean.
3. Blend garlic, red chilies and Korean chilies until smooth.
4. Place the bamboo shoot in boiling for 20 to 30 minutes to remove any excess bitterness and clean with the water again.
Note: Taste for bitterness. If it still, add more times to cook.
5. Heat the pan, add the sugar and stir until the sugar turns golden brown or caramelized.
6. Once the sugar is caramelized, pour the water, sea salt and vinegar and bring it to a boil and let it to warm.
7. In a mixing bowl, add the bamboo shoot, sauce and garlic and chilies paste. Mix together all the ingredients and toss to combine.
8. Put the bamboo shoot in the jar and refrigerate for overnight, Done!

Thank you for this video. Question; Do I have to boil my Bamboo? Asking because I am using sliced bamboo from the refrigerator of my Asian store. It comes in regular bags (Not vacuumed packed) with different prices as it is sold by the lb, and each bag has a different weights. I can not tell if it is raw, and no one in the store knows as no one speaks English. Please, help if you can. Thanks again

These quick pickled bamboo shoots are perfect for grilled meat, rice, noodles and more. They will keep for a couple of weeks or more in the fridge. Just be sure to keep the jar tightly sealed. Thank you for watching.

This doesnt look quick or easy. Why woukd you wash fokd that just cane out of bioling water? Boiking water cleans everything! Haha also why would u even wash thr bamboo shoots after cutting ehen they are clean and potected by all the outter peels? Do you wash onions too? Curious why all the extra steps.
