Here's the Ingredient list for you lovely people...take care of yourselves! Ingredients: 1 Rotisserie Chicken, pulled 6 Garlic Cloves, smashed and chopped 4 Thyme Sprigs 1 Rosemary Sprig 6 Small Carrots (2-3 Big Carrots) halved and cut in half moons or diced 2-3 Celery Stalks, Quartered and diced 1-2 Onions 1 Small Bunch of Kale (or as much as you like) A Few Fresh Parsley Sprigs (for garnish) 2 Bay Leaves 1 Lemon, for juicing after plating the soup 8 Cups (or 2 Boxes) Organic Chicken Stock (Trader Joe’s is my personal fav and the cheapest I’ve seen) 1/4-1/2 Cup of Pastina or your favorite pasta (depending on how much soup you’re making) Parmesan Cheese (for garnish) 1/4 Cup Frank’s Red Hot (plus more for garnish) 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Questions to consider: Is a rotisserie chicken a Healthy food? Does the pasta, bread (gluten) increase inflammation? Does Capsaicin, the compound in spicy peppers, increase phlegm and create more mucus? Does dairy also increase mucus? Do your own research and understand what you are doing and how things work before blindly following anyone. 🙏

I knew we were going to have a snowstorm today in NYC so I bought a rotisserie chicken last night, had a small piece of it and saved the rest for the soup today. Love the music mix and the editing in this video, as well as all the wise advice as you prepare the soup and make enough to set lots aside with pasta stars and cheese to add when in final prep for eating. Now I'm thinking of putting up one of these soups in containers, freezing them to be ready for when I get a cold or just am in the mood for some chicken soup.

I was once advised to use cayenne pepper on the level of the individual serving rather than the hot sauce, and it certainly does the work of clearing the sinuses. I love all the flavors you use. I make my homemade chicken soup in a big batch and always stick a few pints of the soup and broth in the freezer. It keeps good for a year. The noodles are more soggy after defrosting but it’s still very good. I wrote that before you mentioned that exact issue 😆 I’ve never added kale to my chicken soup. Interesting. I always boil a whole, cut up raw chicken. I then debone that meat. That way I’m using good bone broth and don’t need chicken stock.

Great looking soup. I will try the kale and hot sauce. I usually make this quick with boneless chicken breast then shred. I a lways put half or 1 small can of tomato sauce. I cook the pasta separately and save the extra seperately too. Pastina, acing pepe, orzo are all good choices..even rice. Sometimes I also put a potato or two. I love the kale idea. Thx

I wish I’d made this for the freezer ‘just in case’; as it happened my cough developed into a sore throat which turned to shivers and feeling crap...consequently when I got to a supermarket I’d to get those ingredients I could remember from memory. Made the soup with most of what’s in the recipe and improvised the rest, I’m home now, soup is done and first impressions are that it was well worth the effort. I’ll follow up with the correct ingredients and make it properly as soon as I’m in a better place. The flu jab is out next month, I’ll be first in line for the 2019 strain and if all else fails I’ll have some chicken soup in the freezer.

This is pretty much the same thing I like to do. I like to add a little V8. I worked in a fancy restaurant and most of the cooks were Hispanic and they used to make Chix Soup a lot. They got me to use lime and cilantro instead of parsley and lemon, but they also used potatoes which was really good. Just gonna ask about the soup base being "broth" or "stock" since there is a big difference in flavor and intensity.

My man if I'm feeling shattered I will stop then moment I shred that chicken. I'll eat it bear hands and call it a day. That being said the recipe looks wonderful and I look forward to trying it. When I'm not sick.

Great video! I absolutely get this. I know not everyone will go for it, but whenever I'm coming down with something, I make a batch of chicken soup. I always start off with homemade chicken stock, but I use my pressure cooker so it's fast.

Yeah it's the allicin, and that's what's good for you. I believe.

I add tumeric and ginger for an immunity boost sick or not when making chicken soup. Plus the tumeric reminds me of my childhood and campbell's chicken soup.
