hi guys. This was one of the funnest videos to date for me. It never ceases to blow my mind how you take a few pieces of fabric and turn it into something awesome. Enjoy! Sandy

So I practiced this block last week and loved it. I'm starting a quilt for my granddaughter today. I'm now wondering how do I finish the top and bottom edges?
@seweasybysandy Жыл бұрын
@@honestreviews2321 that's awesome. I would say make over the size you need it and the trim off the edges, much like you see on the thumbnail, where I cut the squares where I need it.

I love that you do the quick and easy way to sew. I love it. Hay you can make quilts with all those blocks and give them to shelters or for people who lost everything like now days weather has been crazy. So many people lost homes , cars, clothes everything. I’m sure they would love a homemade quilt. I have been doing it for over 15 years. The look in the faces of the ones that revive them are so happy. God bless.

I loved this video, and found it very helpful for the first stages, cutting strips;then sewing 3 strips of medium/light/medium together, and three strips of dark/light/dark together; then cutting the strips in smaller strips, and cutting the light fabrics into triangles; assembling the puzzle. However, I could not figure out how to sew the tumbling blocks together. I did not find the video or the narrative helpful enough. First, I sewed the pieces together horizontally, which worked great -- most of my points worked out. However, when I tried to sew the rows together, I couldn't figure out how to make it work. When took those apart, and sewed columns together instead, I had problems as well. I wonder if Sandy can do a video focusing a little more on the last half of asembling this quilt.

Hi. Well you literally read my mind because there will be a video in about a week or so where I go back to making tumbling cubes. Until then, there's this video you can watch that I hope helps you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4vCd6ZmYtSBsKM
@nanad475510 ай бұрын
This link didn't answer the question. The easy way you did it in the link was so much easier, i.e. cutting 6 triangles and sewing together 3 triangles for each sode then sewing both sides together. The problem is, I already cut my quilt out using the method here. I agree with the origonal post that you don't explain how you sew them together without the "Y" seam. I sewed the boxes together, then I sewed several together in a row. I then watched this video again and it looks like I need to take my row apart, separating it into single boxes again. Now, how do I sew all this together without that pesky "Y" seam?

Thank you for this video but I have a question. After sewing the blocks and pressing they are not even. Do I make all edges even before I sew the blocks together and how do I do that?
@seweasybysandy3 ай бұрын
Hi, sorry, I missed this comment. Well, it depends on personal taste. If I'm getting your question right, if you've lined up the edges like I mentioned, with the little corners sticking out, etc, you should be able to sew even without cutting. But if you think you'd rather have a straight edge before you sew, you can do that too. You can also send me a photo to contact@seweasybysandy.com if I haven't answered what you needed to know. Happy sewing!

How big would this if you used a light jelly and a dark jelly. That would be 40 light strip sets and 40 dark strip sets

curious... why did you use a 3" solid strip rather than a 2.5" strip?
@seweasybysandy Жыл бұрын
Hi! Because I needed the extra seam allowance to join the 2 triangles at the middle of the diamond. If the strip was 2.5, the diamond would end up smaller than the others.
