Can you do a video on maintaining rods,reel, Etc.I am a bank fisherman and my stuff gets really really dirty. I just cringe when I see how hard I am on my equipment, you boat guys don't have to fight this as much us. Some days I can feel sand in my spinning reels, I do my best to clean up when I get home.But this winter I would take the time to go through and clean my rods,lube reels,do hook changes on tackle Etc. I just want to respect the stuff I pay top dollar for!!!! You guys rock.Matt get well soon, I can't wait to hear the whole story from you some day. Paul

I’m going fishing for smallies and largies next Tuesday and Wednesday. I’m fishing a large body of water, the biggest reservoir in Massachusetts, from the bank. Any tips for bank fishing huge bodies of water?
@bassnazi47136 жыл бұрын
Harrison C. They will answer, but I will say something a ton of my friends never focused on. Watch the wildlife somewhat. If you happen to see birds like cranes and herron in spots around the bank usually it's heavy concentrations of baitfish. Only other thing is to use something like a searchbait and watch the water flow for places were the current is swirling or changing to search out the contours.
@hc_gabe40786 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the tips! I’ll be a bird watcher for 2 days 😂
@bassnazi47136 жыл бұрын
Harrison C. Lol no problem. Often times people forget we aren't the only anglers on the water. Only downside is you will have days where you don't even get a bite, yet watch a herron pull out a 2-3lbs crappie 😒lol, personal experience.

Great question! Start fishing your “normal” summertime baits. Big worms, top waters...... then if the fish aren’t cooperating downsize and try these techniques.
@countryfriedfishing6 жыл бұрын
I always start shallow in the heat of summer hear in Ga. Right now all I can get a hit on is a Junebug trick worm cast weightless to deeper wood.
@bassnbonsai6 жыл бұрын
rangerbull when the bite gets tough do to hot weather usually soft plastics is the way to go so yes big worm worked on the bottom slowly will get them but sometimes even smaller soft plastics are needed. . I've found the 7" shakey head worm and ned rigged trd will get fish when it seems they won't hit anything. . I'm sure others have their go to small plastics that work in their area... The downside to these baits is they usually produce smaller fish and take longer to cover water... but if you are out and shaking your head from not getting bit in anything. ... these baits he's talking about here are what you want to try.. Eventually you'll end up with a few good to baits of your own

First question: I've got 12 lb power pro braid on my spinning set up. Can I run that straight to a finesse tactic or will that line be too visible? Second question: If I do have a fluoro leader on (10 - 15 lb) what knot should I use to tie to the bait? I've been getting break offs on the hook set.
@aaronross93266 жыл бұрын
Keenan Moore I use 20 lb braid for small mouths in door county Wisconsin and our water clarity is easily 15 feet and more sometimes. I still catch small mouths I don’t think they really mind. I never used a leader so not sure on the knot but you can definitely look it up here on KZbin

BPS CANT GET THE SHIMANO REEL IN QUICK ENOUGH EVEN TO WARRANT ONE OUT. @scottbunning67376 жыл бұрын
David Newcomb yea I’ve fished in Iowa and compared to Cali Iowa blows us away when it comes to good spots not as fished out so many people in Cali I went out on Father’s Day to my secret spot and seen like 20 people on the way usually never there also gave me ideas to try some new spots seen a spill way dumping heard fish like that stuff
@davidnewcomb24316 жыл бұрын
I live on Lake Lanier here in GA...spot heaven!!!
@mr.fatbasstard6486 жыл бұрын
David Newcomb just an FYI so you know, spotted bass are rampid in California- Lake Shasta, Lake Berryessa, Camanche Reservoir, New Melones Reservoir, Lake Oroville, Millerton Reservoir, Bullards Bar home of the world record spotted bass... they were introduced into these bodies of water and many many more in California for monetary reasons. Simply put, because of their aggressive nature they're quite catchable.
@davidnewcomb24316 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm aware of the great fishing in Cali....we got blue back herring and gizzard shad as main forage....if we had coconee or however its spelt we'd be running neck/neck with yall
@mr.fatbasstard6486 жыл бұрын
David Newcomb oh I hear you. Food source and growing season are big advantages out here. Even the Trout and Kokanee trollers catch 5+lb spotted bass out here on a regular basis and they consider them a pesky fish. I've caught plenty of their trout while bass fishing and I consider their Trout and Kokanee as bass food lol...
