Several folks have mentioned Bear & Son as the possible maker. They very well might be right as B&S also makes a 3 7/8 in Stockman. I'll need to pick one up and compare the two. I think B&S acquired some of the old Camillus tooling for their traditional knives.

I’m rather fond of the Cotton Sampler pattern and have four of them, three large, one small. It’s great to see Queen back in the USA, I hope that they respect the history and do it well. Glad to see they’ve started well!

I have been enjoying all of the different Fox series knives. I have never picked up a Cotton Sampler, may have to get one. The new USA made Queen knives have all looked really nice, some will be on my next order. Take care of yourself and get feeling better. Live Long Prosper and Collect Your Own Way!

Wow, fantastic looking knife. Another clue Tobias is the talk on the blades. I've never seen a Bear & Sons snap like that. 😊

Glad to see you have improved. I hope you have continued to get better. I found a good unexpected use for my RR Cotton Sampler (acquisition inspired by one of your videos), and that was carving a wooden spoon. The blade lent itself to carving out the depression for the scoop part of the spoon. Thanks

At first I thought B & S, but you bring up some good points. Hopefully we will find out one day.

I also am a fan of the pattern and the blade really is a little scalpel/ fat belly spay. For some reason I like the little guys better than the bigger ones but both are great! Do you have the Arctic Fox, yet?

Great looking stag on the new Queens. I believe you are on to something though as well as the pattern shape and cover material the price of the Queens are befitting Case knives too.

Someone else in the comments said they were leaning towards Baer and Sons knives manufacturing the queen USA knives. I think I do to, because of a few slight reasons. Also this is rather benign, however Buck knives puts that brown shredded paper in a few of their more specialty knife boxes with the knife also. Cheers. Blessings.😊

I’m really wondering if SMKW is sourcing parts from one or more companies and having another company do the assembly. It wouldn’t be the first time a company has done such an operation.
@Cameron_OKG11 ай бұрын
The knife pouch looks like what they send with Bear and son knives . Also the finishing doesn't look like case to me . I vote Bear and Son
@KnifeChatswithTobias11 ай бұрын
The build quality is much better than Bear & Son. That I know for sure. What gets me is the the Pattern number QGSH47. and the fact that the frame is identical to the Case 47 frame. The Stag was most likely supplied by SMKW as was the tin and other accessories. This would keep the price down. Pipes has a lot of of connections in the knife industry so who knows where it is coming from. Still... B&S also makes a nearly identical Stockman so I will need to check theirs out as well. But I will say flat out this would be the best B&S built knife I've come across other than some of the early large toothpicks.

My Daughter got that Arctic Fox Cotton Sampler and it cuts like a scalpel. I got two Queen Trappers with different scales , I wonder if they are made by Bear and Sons ? Continue praying for your speedy recovery

I bought one of these stockman after watching this video, and liked it so much that I bought another one. I also have the trapper and barlow on order, both in stag. I just took out the queen, and compared it to one of my 47 stockmans. I would defer to your knowledge since I've less experience in these matters. What I see is that the pins have different placement, and the frame ''seems to me'' to be a little diminutive in comparison to the Case. The one glaring thing that makes me think it's not Case is that it doesn't have the famous Case edge that feels like it's been sharpened on the street curb. I'm curious to know your thoughts on that. ?
@ghostrider-8139 ай бұрын
Something else I just thought of is that other possibilities are that Bluegrass Cutlery, or Cooper Cutlery, could also be possibilities.
@KnifeChatswithTobias9 ай бұрын
@@ghostrider-813, TC, from SMKW, hinted that it was made one state away, which means it is most likely made by Bear & Son. (Arkansas) It is a surprisingly well made knife for a Bear & Son, in my opinion. I still wonder is they might be having parts sourced from one place and assembled elsewhere. Or it might be. SMKW has some one doing the QC checks instead of B&S. Either way, I'm very pleased with mine. It isn't perfect but it was definitely worth the price.

O.O what!?@?@ When did they start making Queens in the USA again? How much was this knife? Do you think Bear and Son is making it for them?
@dp505knives11 ай бұрын
I think Queen are being made by Bear and Son. As B&S ship some knives in black slip, round shield comes in B&S knives and Case is producing like mad to play catch up after the pandemic and their new lines of modern folders.
@KnifeChatswithTobias11 ай бұрын
I was also thinking B&S but this knife is much better than any Bear I have bought. Plus the stock number on the box is a QGSH47 and the frame is identical to Case’s 47 Stockman. Also, the first Queen USA were made by Bear & Son but they were met with harsh criticism.
@KnifeChatswithTobias11 ай бұрын

Aren't the new Queens made by Utica?
@JoelPerri777711 ай бұрын
I miss the real Queen knives that were made in Pennsylvania. It’s probably bear and sons and not case. They made the newer shrade generational series, and while I did not buy one, I heard they weren’t that great fit and finish wise. I have a few bear and son, they’re ok, but def not the kind of Quality that Queen was known for. I heard Cooper cut co, bought the old tooling and machinery from the liquidation sale in 2018, so who knows, maybe they are making them. That to me, would be the closet you could come to an authentic Queen knife. But I also heard that it was hit or miss with them too, not that consistent. For my money, the shatt and Morgan, Winchester, Robeson shure edge, knives made by Queen in the late 80s early 90s were great knives, made very well, and are my favorite American made knives to collect. I’m pretty sure the guy involved with those knives from Queen, went on to start GEC in 2006. But I’m not 100 percent sure. Either way, I’ll have to grab one of these new American made queens, to see for myself. I was gonna buy that jumbo trapper they came out with first , but it didn’t have any USA stamping or etching so I decided not too. The ones that came out recently, do have the USa on there, so I’d be happy to buy one. Side note…the Chinese made queens are well made knives too, just not as nice as the originals , but for the price, you get a good knife too. Always a pleasure watching your videos Tobias.
