Very attractive old fashion look with the stag material, a large toothpick would look nice, thanks for sharing it, Tobias.

Tobias, i really enjoy your channel buddy, especially you economy/ traditional knives. Its amazing the quality of some economy lines these days. Im 51 and though i have always carried knives, im just getting back into collecting after many years. I think as time has passed i have alot of nostalgia for great knives, both antique and more modern, that i let slip through my fingers when i was a kid because i didn't have an appreciation for what i had. On a closing note, your kitties meow at the beginning of your videos always makes me smile. Have a great day sir and i look forward to seeing more!

I have two of the new Queen trappers and have used one of them almost daily . Stag always varies, yours looks pretty good 👍

It does look like a well built knife from here. Even the Stag covers are matching, they did a pretty good job for a Bear & Son. A large toothpick would be fun.

Beautiful stag on that USA stockman! I especially enjoyed the stag stockman comparison at the end. Is that Gerber stag stockman locking? Something seemed to be going on with the backspring.

This one really caught my attention, had to pick one up! To me it does look like a Bear and Son Stockman. It has the same shape and rounded bolsters plus the blades don't stick up out of the knife too much like they do on most other ones.

They did a good job with it. Thansk for dropping by.

once you give the edge you want for each blade, it doesn´t matter how it comes from factory. Actually, the edge from factory is just for vertical cuts, unable to work with wood. This stockman is a very good tool! And the handle is broad enough to let the hand work with unnecesary strenght! I got a moore maker stockman quite similar. Same blade shape and steel. For precise details is my best knife, any blade. Congratulations Tobias!

I literally had two Bear & Son knives delivered today. Large Stockman and Large Trapper. I can see they are not perfect but better than I expected. If they are making the Queen Stockman I may look into getting one. **Edited update**I have noticed that on my new large stockman that it appears to have the same blade rub as the one in the video. Thought I would share that with you.
@KnifeChatswithTobias10 ай бұрын
For a Bear & Son, they are definitely better than expected. They are not up there with the old "Queen" standard but the price isn't either. As for the blade rub... maybe we can call it a "Defining Feature" instead of a "Flaw." Sigh!
@trynsurviven244010 ай бұрын
@@KnifeChatswithTobias “Defining feature” I like that.

I wish they made em without the blade etch, seems like a solid knife
@KnifeChatswithTobias10 ай бұрын
This is a common complaint but to be fair, this is the way Queen Cutlery made its knives for as long as I can remember. GEC does a similar thing with its knives. It's a very old school thing. So in many ways, what SMKW is doing is keeping the brand alive by keeping the practice of the blade etch in place.

I love these knives but don't care for the billboarding
@KnifeChatswithTobias10 ай бұрын
Queen was doing the billboarding on the blade since the beginning. I know it is not what people look for today, but it is part of the tradition of traditional knives. You see the same with GEC. At one time, it was the sign of a quality knife. But I know where you're coming from.

It would be great if the knives would be marked some way to distinguish the date of production of the knives to help in collecting them.👍
@KnifeChatswithTobias10 ай бұрын
That would make sense. Maybe just a simple numbering system that uses four digits. I don't think many companies sue that one.
