QuickBooks Desktop discontinuation... will QuickBooks Online be required in 2024?

I watched another video where that accountant said no more enhanced payroll after July 31, 2024. He said you'd have to go to online but you can get a stand alone just for payroll. All I use is desktop payroll for my office. It sounded like you said one can continue using enhanced payroll after July 31, 2024. You do explain things very clearly, which I really appreciate!

I just lost the ability to email invoices and statements with my old desktop pro version 2016 in the last 3 months. Other than that, I can still use the program. I do not use it for payroll. I use Roll ADP.

I purchased a 2024 Desktop and almost immediately began receiving the alerts!! It said that I needed to purchase a subscription. I am so confused and quite upset. I don't use payroll, but I do use the file transfer feature

I am small business that has used qb for years and ready to buy qb so although qb pro desktop or premier is fully capable of my needs. I understand enterprise is the only one qb will support after 3 years and not the other two? But will I be overwhelmed with enterprise? I don’t use any of the features the subscription is needed for so I don’t think I. Red to upgrade. I’m currently using desktop ‘21. My question is if I will still be able to download my ‘21 non subscription version to a new computer when I get one.

I use desktop pro 2019, which was not a subscription (it was a one time purchase that we downloaded on the computer). We have used QBD for over 20 years, so does this mean that when I do eventually need to upgrade to a newer version (in the past we did this about every 5 years, so I'm coming up on that very soon) I will not be able to get any kind of QBD at all???

i upgraded to desktop 2023 last year. i do not want to continue payment the ongoing subscription of $649. i had read that if i had an older version of QB i could go back to it (i found my 2020 version. i reloaded qb desktop 2020. but when i try to open a company it sends error message of "QB DT pro 2020 cannot open this company file because the file has been updated to a newer version of QB". any help or ideas ???

Intuit has made some changes with QuickBooks Desktop and now you have to upgrade to the annual subscription otherwise you won't be able to access your QuickBooks account.
