Hey Dan. The name of the mall is Lake Forest Plaza. New Orleans East was completely flooded during Katrina. The mall was already dead before Katrina. I remember there weren't many stores there back in 2002.

Went through Katrina in 2005, I lived in the area of the theatre, but I was in another part of town during the event. The area of the theatre did flood, quite a bit. I would say 7 feet of water or so. The movie theatre was a working cinema even though the mall was dead, it was destroyed in the hurricane flood. Side note, some of the exteriors for Terminator Genesis were filmed in a lot right next to the old flooded Grand Theatre.
