Got mine about 30 days ago. I could not be happier. It replaced my Fender 64 Reverb Custom Deluxe Hans Wired. Yes, this amp is that good and no, unfortunately I don’t get any money from Quilter. Just amazing tones at all volumes. Best amp I’ve had in 40 years.

I truly hope someone from Sweetwater Music has checked out your videos! Excellent demo! I think (and I hope) that some people out there will never talk bad about SS amps anymore. As for me, I am happy with my Quilter 101, with a VOX cabinet - it does everything I want doesn't break my back or the bank. Keep up the good work, Shawn! Cheers from Australia!

I played a metal gig with a 202 last Friday. Rig was an Ampero MP-80, Quilter 202, and a Mesa 2x12. Not my rig was my friends. I was absolutely blown away how great it sounded. I bought a Mach 3 and it just came. I am psyched.

A good friend of mine went searching for a new rig after his was stolen. Ultimately he decided on Quilter as he was long tired of lugging around a big heavy head. For bar gigs the Quilter easily outclassed the atmosphere in tone and versatility. It's all just too easy.

I have been using a Quilter MP Mach II for several years now exclusively! I purchased the TB-202 last month, and have now retired the MP! The Vintage mode EQ on the TB is incredible! The Mach II does not get that chimey in any of the settings! Pat Quilter definitely got the EQ frequencies down on this one!!!

Thanks for the demo as always, Shawn! I haven't had a chance to mess with the guitar heads, but I use the Bass Block 800 and it handles my normal gig with John 5 (in which I'm using the VS-XO I bought based, uh, on your demo) and any other gig I've done with ease, and anywhere in the world. As someone else said, too easy. I'm not likely to buy a Kemper or Axe myself, but I think one of these would be a nice home studio addition for no-hassle guitar tracking dates. I hate running people through software when I can't crank up a cab, and these heads seem like a better value for money than getting a fancy attenuator, although I suppose that's inevitable when you start to accumulate cool guitar heads (starting, slowly.)

Thank you for this review! I'm a player on a tight budget and right now I'm weighing the pros and cons of this or an Orange Super Crush 100 head ... And, this has the very convenient feature of a headphones out mode ... So, I'm struggling to choose between out of the box extreme distortion breakup which I absolutely want .. or paying more for this while requiring at least one pedal but offering headphone play ... It's a tough call bc both seem like a great deal

Nice review. Question...with tube amps I generally run OD pedals between guitar and amp input to "goose" the front end of amp; delay etc thru the loop. Do you set up the ToneBlock this way or run OD pedals thru the loop?
@ShawnTubbs
@ShawnTubbs 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the question. I think, in my opinion, that it would be best to run OD pedals to the front and use time-based and modulation effects in the loop.

If you're using amp modeling of any sort, I recommend using the FX return.
@MauricioGarcia-mk5bz
@MauricioGarcia-mk5bz 4 жыл бұрын
Shawn Tubbs yes sir. I’m using the pod go as an amp modeler. So that takes me to the last question. When is The fr/fr used?
@ShawnTubbs
@ShawnTubbs 4 жыл бұрын
@@MauricioGarcia-mk5bz The FRFR works at the input of the amp. It's more for when you're running into a flat response cabinet. You should try it both ways, even into a regular guitar cabinet. You might find that you like running out of the pod into the input with the FRFR switch engaged better than just running into the FX return. Either way will work.

@UCVoVhjxN1L4iDWW1_JZIBAw Heck yes I believe it's true. Maybe less. Just look around for a good used solid state combo amp for 50-150 dollars. Try it out. You can't make good decisions on amps by watching a video. You have to try one out and play through it. With pedals if that's what you use. Also without pedals. How does it sound clean? How does it sound good and loud? You will still have to carry around a cabinet for this lightweight head. This amp here is designed to be very loud. Is that what you want?
