I spent 40 years working in hospital, with side jobs related to that, to support my big family and provide adequate insurance for my medically fragile son. I retired in 2019 to my homestead. What a difference! I had both knees replaced, then life took off. I spent a lot of time doing something I love and being outside. Congratulations! You handle it all so well.

Way to go Tyler and family! It obviously takes you and your wife to accomplish this. Farming/ranching is HARD You and your wife do an awesome job putting together these videos. Not pretentious, not preachy, just showing the world what it takes to be a small farmer today! Still the very best farm KZbin channel!!!!!!

Congratulations to you and your wife on your 1 years as a self employed rancher. My saying is "You do you" because you're the only one who knows you the best. Mrs Tyler Ranch has also been your most influential person in your life and maybe Grandpa had given you many inspiring words as well when you were helping him on the farm. Keep up the great work Farmer Tyler and you will see even more rewards, I'm sure. I believe all of us were just inspired by this video. Your fan from Cape Cod, Ma.

Happy Easter weekend, Tyler and family !! Thank you for sharing your background and how you quit your 8 - 5 job to become a full-time rancher !! Those life-changing decisions are not always easy. For me it was should we leave the country we were born in (Rhodesia) and move to America which was a long way away from Africa, where we were born. The fact that Rhodesia was going to become Zimbabwe and be a Socialist/Communist country certainly helped make our decision !! So, I sorta know what it was like for you !! We've lived here in San Diego now for 44 years !! Now retired after becoming proud US citizens back 🔙 in 1983. In my retirement I spend some of my time following KZbinrs and the many interesting topics that are presented. We love your channel and enjoy watching life here in CA and your busy lifestyle !! To see your daily "chores" on the Ranch, your family and the challenges that come up from time-to-time. You are certainly a hard-working man and it amazes me what ALL you do and single- handedly at that !! Good job, Tyler and may God continue His Blessings on you and your family !!

It seems I’m working harder than running my business but as you said it’s harder but easier because it’s for me!

You'll make it just fine, it's very obvious just watching and listening to you it's very apparent you suffer from the same mind set a bunch of us have and that is an absolute bone chilling terrifying fear of failure. Not that many people have that fear. I bought my first road tractor in 1974, can't tell you how many people told me I was making a huge mistake,7 trucks ,44 years and a little over 4 million miles later I retired and while not a millionaire we retired very comfortably. Was it a bed of roses? Not by a long shot, but as long as you have that fear of failure you'll be fine.

On my granddad’s farm there were always several income streams from hay sales, the chicken and eggs in one shed, car repair in another shed, share cropping out ground, renting out space to an independent farrier, to renting barn space to a horse trainer. As much as you love ranching, I suspect that you also don’t have all your eggs in one farm basket. Your welding and metal fabricating skills are impressive. Several streams of income in the background are much more likely. May you and your family have a peaceful and joyous Easter

I got fired from my job 3 years ago, decided to take the holidays off and boom... COVID. No jobs, no interviews, nothing... unless I wanted to drive for Amazon. But, it's amazing what you can accomplish foe YOURSELF and your family when you're not working for someone else. I always wanted to farm, and only I held myself back, seeing how I never farmed in my life. Now, we have 5 acres, 80 chickens, 4 turkeys, 7 pigs, 2 goats, 10 ducks, 40 fruit trees, a 1600 sqft greenhouse, 2 dogs, 2 Emus and growing. Speaking of watching people quit their jobs to farm full-time, your channel was one watched that gave me the motivation I needed to go for it. In fact, I think it was the first video I watched when you decided to quit! So, if you thought you'd help at least one, you did.

You are great person and your example of choice is very inspiring. Always comparing your farm with mine to some people this can be boring-sorry. Also quit my permanent job and replace it for a sesonal(this is my way of making good life for me,my wife and my kids),the reason is that after those 5-6months of very hard work I can rest not working at all,but I do work,on my farm, taking my kids around, feeding pigs and calves(steers) with them, growing chicks and turkeys, teaching them a real life, trying to show them alternative. We do grow a lot of fruit as well and we do employ people in different stages of our production. It is not easy and it is very responsible and you have to be dedicated to it,but it gives you that sence of freedom. Lost logic is way do you work 12-13h a day thrue the season when you can be at home all year around..?,Because in my country it is not possible to Save money for Fresh start and I with my better half decide that I need to provide some secure income. Long story I know...
