So proud of you for quitting smoking! Some garden tips from a farmer: -Your other cucumbers might be small because they're planted too close together, we usually give cucumbers 12 inches (I think, you can double check this online) - Pollination could definitely be improved by planting more flowers, you can also hand-pollinate too! - Drip irrigation is awesome the plants will love it ♥ you grow girl!!

You can pollinate by hand! Gently using your finger to transfer pollen from flower to flower, you can also use a tiny paint brush!

I love that you are gardening. I’m doing the same in my 30’s. I have been growing a little garden on my balcony and I have been consumed by indoor plants and wanting to be a better plant mom. Researching grow lights for small places and best locations. Continue to enjoy your 30’s. It’s been helping with my general anxiety, depression and ADHD honestly. Getting back into my reading as well!

I've only watched like 1 min of the video but THANK YOU for talking about smoking and quitting!! I smoke too and I hate it, and I feel like content creators don't really want to talk about it, even though I'm sure many of them smoke as well. Makes me feel less lonely when someone who's content I like talks about the same struggles.

Pollinator tip: setting out a shallow water dish with rocks and pebbles will help ur pollinators access water so they can keep up their energy in the hot summer❤️ make sure there r plenty of pebbles in the dish so the lil guys don’t drown

You would love my moms garden!! We have about 45 tomatoe plants 8 HUGE zucchini plants and cucumbers 10 pepper plants eggplant sunflowers 4 different types of beans and they grow to be HUGE! Because we live on an old dairy farm we planted them in an area where cows used to CRAP everywhere for years…this has made our soil soooo so sooo good for gardening! I wish I could show you! You would LOVE IT! ❤️❤️❤️

Congrats. Addiction of ANYTHING that rules your life absolutely sucks. And when you quit one thing, sometimes other addictions you didn’t even notice start popping up and it’s just so freeing like you said to notice them and rid yourself. (That’s how it was for me - I ended up quitting three addictions, smoking was my first… im literally a different person, and I loved myself before & never wanted to change but I just didn’t even realize how depressed I was and just how much my “addictions” affected me. I’m so much happier now and 💯 myself. Good luck!!

Started smoking like 10 years ago but have been smoking half a pack or more a day for 4-5 years now. I'm the same exact way- I like to go sit and scroll and people watch from my porch and chainsmoke. This week I moved into a new place with no porch so I have to walk around the block to smoke and it's such a pain in the ass lmao. But I'm starting the nicotine patches tomorrow!!! I'm definitely going to miss the ritual. Solidarity!!!

Had to come by and say it's 1:18am EST - I slept from 4:30 this afternoon & just woke up a bit ago - having a decaf & Gum!! Craving hard right now - so I just thought I would come & visit. Also wanted to say my sister lives in Nags Head - just thought I would mention since so many other things were speaking to me on your video - spent a lot of my youth in OBX!! It was hot as hell here in NY so didn't go out - hence, sleep! But I wanted to add that the way you described how you would want to go home to smoke; not wanting to walk & smoke - so me!! I wanted to Enjoy my cig & walking & smoking did not do it for me! Same in the morning coffee & cig & internet. And now I have been finding myself being social in such a different way - so interesting the amount of space smoking takes up in our lives. Also, my daughter & my cat hated it. But once my daughter got her own place several years ago - it was on - Sorry Kitty - but it was so relaxing to have That freedom of smoking at my leisure! FF and this freedom is SO much better!! Thanks for letting me ramble...Don't worry I'm not a full fledged nut case or anything - just needed to vent to someone who would understand! lol! Everyone else here on the East coast is asleep! Hope you are holding on Joanna!! Also, I thoroughly enjoyed your garden tour - You are So lucky to have that awesome space inside & out of your home!! ♥

Saw this - had to click!! Thurs will be 2 wks for me of no smoking! I have smoked regularly for the last 20 yrs & was up to 2 packs a day over the last year. I cannot afford $13.50 a pack here in NY. The whole thing was just disgusting to me.... Finally I was ready to be free! I have been using the nicotine gum - tastes like Big Red & has been working well for me especially with the oral fixation part! I'm saving for a new car with the money I am not spending on smoking! Already saved $175. Rock ON Sister!!! ♥♥♥ All the best! Edited to say - Same! First few days felt pretty easy - I think the excitement of deciding to quit helped but then about the 5th 0r 6th day I started to feel the cravings coming on stronger....told myself I can do anything for one day & now tomorrow will be 13 days and I feel good! Cravings still come but I put a piece of gum in my mouth & I get thru it and they are beginning to get further & further apart I have noticed - even having a drink I was cool with it & I felt that was a true test. Alright back to the video....

I just finished listening to The Year of Less by Cait Flanders and I highly suggest it as a great slower-living read. It’s an autobiography about the authors decision to only spend money on necessities for a year and the things she discovered about herself, her life, and her family through that process. I listened to it on Libby through my local library. Definitely made me feel more secure about entering a slower season of my life and encouraged me to think about myself and my habits a little more seriously !

the trick to not disturbing soil in finicky plants is to try to maintain as much existing soil as possible - like you did - and this also helps to keep the mycelium in the soil in tact too so they don’t suffer issues from nitrogen supply

I was so proud of my partner when he quit smoking cigarettes but soon after he learned about vape pens and has since became addicted to them. I would even say he smokes a lot more now and spends more money. He has absolutely no desire at all to quit and he even tells me he needs nicotine to function because he works in the restaurant industry. I know I can’t make him want to quit but I am getting very tired of getting vape blown in my face and our room always looking like it has clouds. Any advice?
