creative people are expected to wear so many hats these days - artist, teacher, social media manager, influencer, KZbin/Tiktok/Instagram personality - and because of this we tend to loose outselves or at least our dreams trying to juggle demands. Good for you getting back onto the dream chasing .. I'll wait with bated breath! loved your no hold back teaching style.

I see 100% how going live and communicating/answering questions with 100s of people while tattooing can be distracting effecting results no matter how great they still are. As well as the amount of time being spent watching/talking over recorded only works to create pre done videos together and doing reviews, and technical breakdowns of your own/others work is much time spent that could be better spent focusing it towards what you need in order to reach that next peak/level your continually striving to reach/surpass. Hate to see you stop posting all together , id watch completely silent videos of you being 1000% focused in your work with no commentary/care/interaction what so ever to the cajera/viewer over all other channels. We all have to do whats we know is best for ourselves as artists in oder to be in the right headspace needed and as much time possible to reach the goals we strive for . All anyone can/should say at this junction is Thanks for giving us your time and a wealth of priceless information and good luck on your journey to reach your best self and be the best you can be at what you love.

Yeah... tattooing has unfortunately turned into a sort of walk of fame! I remember when tattoos were super underground, shared by those who lived on the margins of society. Now it's just a trend, and everyone wants to be a tattoo artist because of Ink Master hype and some KZbinrs with Lambos saturating the market. In terms of development, tattooing is better than ever, but all this trendy stuff is ruining it. Another thing that bothers me is how people are so focused on who’s gatekeeping or not, but few notice that turning tattooing into some kind of competition to decide who’s the best or promoting a top 10 or 20 best artists is far worse. Art is not and never will be a competition-it’s a form of expression, a way to share experiences, to share with one another and so on. The market destroys everything it touches, and tattooing is no exception. I don’t want to be a gatekeeper, but it’s inevitable to feel some sadness seeing one of the most alternative art forms turn into something superficial and mainstream. It’s capitalism in its purest form, ruining amazing things by making them solely about profit. The tattoo world will never be the same, unfortunately, but I believe that in a few years the hype will die down a bit, and things will improve. Let’s wait and see. I wish you all the best for the future and hope you find what you’re looking for, but I believe that for that to happen, you’ll need to rethink some concepts and discover the true purpose of the art of tattooing.
@OLIVERAYREАй бұрын
@@bullsheeptattoo completely agree with what you have said but unfortunately tattoo is far to oversaturated to just be mediocre. It’s the industry now. So trying to acheive the best ever status in a field is never a bad thing.
@bullsheeptattooАй бұрын
@@OLIVERAYRE I understand where you come from but you definitely can be the best version of yourself as an artist without the senseless competition.

Look forward to when you return with new work. Sometimes we just have to go quiet to renew, then come back with fresh ideas. Thank you.

Damn. Made me sad. Your vids encouraged me to get on with it too. For what its worth. I feel like constructing images from the ground up without just copy and pasting stuff is where its at for me i.e. using drawing skills. The less generic the design is the better i feel about it. Obviously not every client is up for that shit though. All the best. You sound positive and determined.

I would love to do a response video to this topic on my new tattoo channel “Osiris Ink”. Everything you are saying I completely understand, I started out tattooing awhile back and your videos helped me TREMENDOUSLY! I got better quicker, learned the craft pretty well, and overall eventually opened my own tattoo shop here in the States. What I have found in this industry is just what everyone mentioned, it is over saturated. It is also difficult to find other serious tattoo artists within the area to fill the shop. What I found is the industry’s image is… let’s be honest, shit. Due to crappy and shifty tattoo artists they have made the industry rough(er). I’m an artist in all I do, even when it comes to entrepreneurship and due to my martial arts background, carpal tunnel is creeping up in my hands rather fast. Thus, letting me know that my time is ticking being a professional tattoo artist. My goal is to open multiple tattoo shops here in the States and well as in the UK and some of those locations will be to help people get into the industry that loves the craft. The skills you have taught will not be forgotten and things will only get better from here. With this said, best of luck out there. You are one of the greats in my book, I look forward to what the future brings your way. Take care.
