I see many people too worry about not having these answers correct when their consider b2 themself or thinking a lot about their actual level and I have something to say. Learning process is not lineal so you could have some knowledge in those specific questions but lacks in other areas, I can speak with anyone in English but my grammar is not the best so am I c1 or b2?... actually it doesn't matter; it depends on your goals, I consider my self as fluent but I still need to improve some other aspects of my English and that will take time and effort but I love this process , I hope that can give perspective to those that have many doubts; keep it going and enjoy it.

As a native speaker, I got all correct. But I am sympathetic with those who found the test a bit more challenging than what they may have expected from a B2 level. Nonetheless, excellent test.

This time I scored 8 out of 15, it was so terrible because I'm not pretty smart at solving tricky grammar tests like this with mixed grammar exercises that contain strange vocabulary or some unknown grammatical elements. I think that focusing excessively on the grammar is not a good aspect if I want to achieve the fluency in terms of speaking or listening skills.

Congratulations on scoring 8 out of 15! 🎉👏 It's fantastic that you took on the challenge of this tricky grammar test. Remember, intelligence isn't solely defined by test scores. You showed great courage and determination by tackling unfamiliar grammar exercises and facing unknown vocabulary and grammatical elements. 🌟💪 Embracing a well-rounded approach to language learning is essential for achieving fluency in speaking and listening skills. While grammar is important, it's equally crucial to develop other aspects of language, such as comprehension and communication. Balance is key! Keep focusing on your overall language skills, and with continued practice and exposure, you'll make remarkable progress. Don't be discouraged by this result; instead, let it fuel your motivation to keep growing and learning. You're on an amazing journey, and each step brings you closer to your goal of fluency. Keep up the excellent work! 🤗😊

It's great to hear that you found the B2 level quiz to be spot on! If you feel that your language skills are at a C1 level, that's fantastic! It's important to have a strong belief in your own abilities. However, keep in mind that self-assessment can sometimes differ from an official evaluation. If you haven't already, it might be beneficial to take an official language proficiency test to determine your exact level. That way, you can have a more concrete understanding of your current proficiency. Regardless, your confidence and enthusiasm in your language skills are commendable. Keep up the excellent work and continue striving for improvement! If you have any more questions or need assistance, feel free to ask. Good luck on your language learning journey!

@EnglishTestBlog
@EnglishTestBlog Жыл бұрын
Hello! Don't worry about scoring 7/15 on the quiz. It's just a representation of your current knowledge, and there's always room for improvement. It's completely normal to come across forms or phrases that you're not familiar with. The phrase "had better" in the question 13 is an idiomatic expression used to give strong advice or make a strong recommendation about what someone should do in a particular situation. It implies that there may be negative consequences or undesirable outcomes if the advice is not followed. Here's an example of how to use "had better" in a sentence: Positive: You had better study for the exam if you want to pass. In this sentence, "had better" is used to strongly advise someone to study for the exam in order to achieve a desired outcome, which is passing the exam. To form a negative sentence with "had better," you can use "had better not" followed by the verb in its base form. Here's an example: Negative: You had better not be late for the meeting. In this case, "had better not" is used to strongly advise someone against being late for the meeting, suggesting that there could be negative consequences if they are late. Remember, when using "had better," it's important to consider the context and the relationship between the speaker and the listener, as it can come across as quite direct or even authoritative.

The first one should have been "to resolve" instead of "of resolving". The third one should have been "to" instead of "against", and the fourth one should have been "of" instead of "on". The second one is technically correct but probably would sound if it was "had instead of "have" as in the previous sentence they used past tense.

I got 12 out of 15. Am I B2 level? And yes, I would like to get explanation for the 11th question. I was surprised that the expression "I have no say in the matter" is correct. For me it sounds strange. Is 'say' a noun in this sentence?
@EnglishTestBlog
@EnglishTestBlog Жыл бұрын
Hello Николай Гроз! Congratulations on scoring 12 out of 15 on the quiz! While test scores can provide some indication of your language level, it's important to remember that they are just one aspect of language proficiency assessment. B2 level typically corresponds to an intermediate level of English, and your score suggests you have a good understanding of the topics covered in the quiz. Regarding the 11th question, the expression "I have no say in the matter" is indeed correct. In this sentence, the word "say" functions as an abstract noun, meaning an idea or concept. In this context, it refers to having an opinion or influence in a decision or situation. So when someone says, "I have no say in the matter," they are expressing that they have no ability to influence or participate in the decision-making process. It's understandable that it may sound strange at first, as idiomatic expressions can sometimes be tricky to grasp. However, "I have no say in the matter" is a common phrase used to convey a lack of influence or control over a particular situation. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask. Keep up the good work with your language learning!

As a native speaker, I am happy to answer. For the first answer to be correct, the phrasing would be "They have been unable to resolve the conflict." Another correct option would be "They have been unsuccessful in resolving the conflict." Hope this helps.

4/15 wtf? O.o I need more vocab and phrasal verbs
@EnglishTestBlog
@EnglishTestBlog Жыл бұрын
It's alright, scoring 4 out of 15 doesn't define your abilities or potential. Vocabulary and phrasal verbs can indeed be challenging, but the key is to approach them as a learning opportunity. With practice and exposure, you can gradually expand your knowledge and improve your understanding. Don't be discouraged by the result; instead, use it as motivation to further enhance your language skills. There are many resources available, such as textbooks, online courses, and language apps, that can help you build your vocabulary and grasp phrasal verbs more effectively. Stay persistent, keep learning, and you'll see progress over time. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance or guidance whenever needed. Good luck on your language learning journey!

Question 11 Explaination please
@EnglishTestBlog
@EnglishTestBlog Жыл бұрын
Here you are: 1️⃣ "They have been unable of resolving the conflict." The correct phrase should be "They have been unable to resolve the conflict." The preposition "of" should be replaced with "to" to convey the intended meaning. 2️⃣ "Contrary against popular belief, gorillas are shy by nature." To improve the grammatical accuracy, we can say "Contrary to popular belief, gorillas are shy by nature." The phrase "against" should be replaced with "to" to properly express the contrast. 3️⃣ "I'm thinking on starting my own business." To make it grammatically correct, we can say "I'm thinking of starting my own business." Instead of using the preposition "on," it should be "of" in this context. Hope that helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. 😊📚

Can we say " at all " instead of " in all " in question 12?
@EnglishTestBlog

We use "at all" with questions and negatives to add emphasis, but not with affirmative statements. We use "in all" after numbers to mean 'as a total'.
