i remember being and extremely confused queer child, and not fully understanding all the identifying terms, and taking every single are you gay/lesbian/trans/bi/pan/nonbinary/ace quiz i could find. and then frantically googling some of the results. and then writing sad poetry about it. and then posting that poetry on quotev.

My dad caught me playing a 7 minutes in heaven quiz with the Akatsuki characters from naruto on quizilla. He blew up thinking a boy named, as he pronounced it, "Day-dara?!" (Deidara) sent me a dirty email. I was 11. Eventually he figured out it wasn't a message and I still dont thinking he quite understood what it was. I still cringe thinking about it.

@@salem-01 no ur all good ! i can’t remember the name really, but the plot had to do with my main character OC being the daughter of hades because i was being emo. @LurkeyTurkey68

@@bellarinaxoxo Good for you! Not only for finishing it, but also for the numbers you pulled on it. I personally think that the stigma around fanfiction should be changed, and it's nice to see that some small steps are being taken so people can be more open about their creative endeavors and entertainment. Being proud of your fanficion isn't something to be ashamed of, or belittled. You did something that most people would be too scared to do (publish something for strangers to read), and no matter the context, you should be proud of that.

honestly really wish quotev had a bigger userbase than it does. its writer is absolutely amazing for a free software and you have the ability to tailor your searches specifically to what you want to see and what you dont want to see so your results arent bloated by things you have no interest in. it's just there's not as wide of an array of stories to choose from that you'r interested in since its population is small :((

I made so many friends off of Quotev during middle school. I still talk to them today! So many good memories from that site. One thing that really popped off on Quotev around 2016ish was the emo trinity (MCR, FOB, P!ATD) fandom. There were numerous roleplay groups dedicated to these bands (I was, embarrassingly enough, part of one of them) and I think it would be super interesting if you did a deep dive of that emo trinity fandom around that time.

GOD I miss quizilla. I still think about quizilla multipart "who would you fall for" quiz sagas all the time, which generally plopped the reader into a house full of supernatural boy OCs and then you'd get little romance moments with one of them in each result depending on how you reacted. Such an interesting format.

This is painful, I spent more hours than I'd care to admit on quotev when I was younger. I first discovered lemon fics on that site. What ghost follows me? The ghost of 14 year old me consuming reader insert fics and frantically taking every single "am I gay" quiz I could find

Quotev was my childhood. I spent every waking moment in that site for, like, 3 years, playing bad quizzes and readind and writing bad fanfiction. I'm oretty sure my profile, to this day, has the background of a low quality kitsune art piece I stole off of google. Nostalgic as hell in the best of ways. Was horribly sad when they got rid of the "search groups" thing u_u I was too shy to join any group that wasn't a meme, but I had always wanted to.

When I started writing fanfiction I wrote on Quotev because I wasn’t able to sign up for Wattpad for some reason and I had heard of AO3, but when I searched it up the only thing I saw was Archive Of Our Own and I didn’t know they were the same thing 😭

I remember this quiz called "How much would Yami Bakura like you" that was very well written. It was more of a choose your own adventure type of quiz. The person who wrote it used to get threats about "stealing bakura from her if she didn't update". To this day I still think that's hilarious. This was actually Quizilla though.

I discovered Quotev way back in 6th grade looking for harry potter house quizzes amd then went down sucb a rabbit hole that ended up with middle school me publishing oc insert crossover fanfictions and reading some really interesting original fics there. Quotev was great Edit: oh god the psychic damage I took from "you laugh at his randomness." I made one of those 2012 era lol random quizzes and forced my friends to take it because I thought that was peak comedy. It was so bad.

I was a Quotive kid and I'm so glad to see it get more representation as of late. It always gets left out when people discuss fandom sites. I got sucked in with the quizzes and discovered fanfiction there. Also I took some of the quizzes in the video as a kid! I completely forgot about the ghost boyfriend trend. Also the Slender's mansion with all the other popular creepypastas were always my favourite fics to read on there

Quotev used to be my go to place for fanfiction back when I was in secondary school until I ventured into AO3 (Wattpad was just way too cringey for me, Quotev was just a little less so lmfao) Thank you for taking me down memory lane. It's nice to revisit my childhood once in a while

man, what a blast from the past!! Quotev was my first fandom website, and boy was it memorable. I miss the gifs that got spread around and plastered to everyone’s profile, they were almost Quotev’s unofficial scout badges. everyone discusses the quizzes, but I don’t think I ever see anyone discussing the groups function? From what I remember, it was added around 2013/2014, I want to say December? I was already there for the Pokémon fanfiction and self-insert stories, but that’s truly what made me stay, and even got me into roleplay. It’s also what eventually led me to Discord, and the friends I have today. I think it got discontinued though, I haven’t been on that site in a few years. RIP to the big Pokémon RP group I was a part of :’]

I used to take a bunch of “are you a vampire” quizzes. I really wanted to be a vampire. I read somewhere to sleep with my pillows surrounding me like a coffin and i did that for years. Sometimes i still sleep like a vampire on my back with my arms crossed on my chest. I did that during a sleepover once and my friends thought i was dead😭

Quizilla was my first 'fan fiction' site. I remember at one point they limited the number of words that you could put in each question so a lot of stories became broken.

Saying the word quizilla completely rebooted my brain. I wrote so much stuff on quizilla. Do you remember the 2008-2010 era where people would make stores in quiz form? They were intended to play kind of like a visual novel, where you're gaining "points" with different fictional romance boys, but generally didn't have much by way of branching plots. Does anyone else remember these?>
