I really love how humble and kind he is. He seems like such a good person and it comes through the sounds he makes - so much love and feeling. Love this guy

Was in SF with work and heard Austin was playing - amazing gig and got to briefly chat with him afterward - real gentleman

He's the person who made me start the modular and ambient path. Love his albums, and that characteristic sound he gets from any instrument... Thanks for this interview, Ben!

Makes so much sense that the Summit is all over this. I bought a Summit almost sheerly on the character of r beny's custom ambient patches... It's a VIBE.

For me, that gave great insight into the overall rig flow of my favourite artist. Many thanks to my favourite modsplainer, divkid ftw! For me, r beny was probably the person that inspired me to get into modular. And divkid, omri cohen and others helped me understand it much more easily than I would have, on my own. A couple of years in, and you guys are still my favourites.

still my favourite ambient artist since i've heard cascade symmetry for the first time. thx for sharing this! 🖤

Yes, it seems like we’re all to easily slaved to the clock … it’s certainly one way of composing, tho I like the idea of a floating ambience too … not having a rigid tempo but a constantly evolving one is a nice change 🙂

Awesome rundown, thank you guys so much! What a shame it seemed like you were under a bit of time pressure, I could easily see a much longer version of this kinda talk. Still turned out great though!
@DivKid3 жыл бұрын
Yeah we thought we could use a space that apparently we couldn't. The guy at the venue was a massive ass and kept been rude about it.
@SecondSunCph3 жыл бұрын
@@DivKid damn that sucks. At least you still got an interesting conversation and nice video out of it. Learned a lot from Austin's way of setting up his rig, super helpful 🙏

I like not using clock. Sequencers are plenty. If I did not want to share my secrets, I would talk in the language he uses. 😏🥳 But a fine visit.

I would like to see and hear an interwiev with Craig Tattersall aka The Humble Bee. I am also sure that he can tell us A LOT about tape processing and ambient/experimental stuff. Pls, somehow?

it's part of his performance, specifically the quick one we shot for this video. Although there's an uncut version (8-9 minutes) of that for my Patreon supporters exclusively for them. But it's from the actual performance he gave at Velocity 2019, you can watch that in full here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmO7apKFlrd-fLM
