Dude this is amazingly dope af. I honestly would say that this is my favorite piece of 3d art right now.. I'm a sound designer/producer and a total noob at 3d art but am slowly learning. I would love to learn how you made the tractor beam so intricate and amazing and how to get the texture on that ufo.. I saw a ufo when I was a kid and that's really what I want to make in blender, I want to recreate that 10 second moment of my life that completely changed everything forever. Big ups dude, keep up the great work!

Yeah, just a cylinder subdivided and displaced with an emissive volume shader. Check out the description to download the file and have a look at it yourself. :)

wow this is incredible im curious what computer you used to render this and how long it took because i tryed rendering the blend file on my pc which has a 780 ti and 4790k with 8 gbs ram and when rendering the blend just the bvh setup and synchronizing objects took 10 minutes before it even tryed to render and after that blender crashed and said cuda out of memory i tryed my other card which is an rx 480 but that also crashed any idea what would cause this?

I'm using 1080 Ti's at the moment, so it sounds like you GPU may be running out of memory. In the "Geometry" panel of the render settings, try reducing the Max Subdivisions and re-rendering.

thanks for the response i tryed reducing subdivisions unfortunately it still ran out of vram i guess i will have to buy a gpu with more vram by the way the amount of detail on the render is incredible it is the most incredible render i have seen especially the compositing how long did this take to create

Nope, the Sapling addon the comes with Blender.
