Is there any way to MOVE the voice effects? We use 1 in particular and need to quickly jump between it, and a music or FX pad and can't seem to figure out how to move it, if possible. Thanks

For some reason , my Voice FX only allow me to use it for 1 mic at a time , when I try to select all 4 mics it shuts off the other mic’s effect. Is there a fix to this ?

In the RCP2 V1.0.7 which was the version that RØDE video was made, there was only one Voice FX bus. This meant you could have the SAME effect on multiple mics, but not different effects on each mic. It also meant that the voice FX were not included in the multitrack stems. In the RCP2 V1.1.1 and later, there has been an architecture change, so there is a voice FX processor on EVERY channel. This has a number of advantages that many people were asking for - Voice FX are included on the multitrack output - You can have different effects on each mic (so Mic 1 as pitch up, mic 2 with reverb) However, it does mean you can't activate voice FX on two mics with one pad. If you want to have a voice FX on two mics at the same time, set one pad for mic 1, another for mic 2, and then activate both pads.

Using multichannel recording the voice effects are NOT recorded on the mic channel, only appear on the Stereo Mix Master. Is that correct?

When I play a video from KZbin or anywhere from the Internet, I want to apply the sound effects on the voices from that input. Is that even possible? It will save real time on editing. Hey there, effects can only be applied to one channel at a time, but you can create effects for more than one channel at a time, you can create two SMART pads next to each other, with the same effect but on different channels.

Please add auto-tune/pitch correction! I am trying to replace my GoXLR completely. Just a heads up, the SoundFX seems buggy along with the Smart Pads. It won't apply for me, at all, and uploading sound files wasn't working until I uploaded a 3rd sound on a 3rd pad. It seems to have 'fixed' the glitch. To add, you should be able to use a SoundFX pad while recording an audio clip for the soundboard. Currently, when you are recording a sound for the soundboard on a Smart Pad, it disables all the other pads.

For anyone wondering, I fixed the issue. If you have any channels in solo, even the smart pads channel and mic channel, it will not apply the effects. You have to have all channels out of solo as if you’re running your main mix.

Hi there Thanks for the good explanations. I got onto your channel because of a problem that I am faced with concerning the SMART Pads. In your video you always have all of the four micorphones activated (green circle around them) on your effects. So your voice effects take impact on all microphones that you have connected. I don't manage to do this - I can only chose one micorphone on which the effect is activated, and I can switch it. But I don't manage to activated it on all four to the same time. Any suggestions what I could do?

Hey Emmanuel, not a dumb question! When you are recording in multi-track pre-fader, you will be able to remove the SMART pad fx, as it will appear as a separate track. If multitrack is switched off, this will be baked into your main mix, you can read more on this here: rode.com/en/user-guides/rodecaster-pro-ii/recording-and-exporting-audio#:~:text=Activating%20Multitrack%20Recording

You should be able to apply it to the Bluetooth channel, and if you are talking on the phone with them, just that channel has the effect. However it would only be if you are recording in single stereo track not multitrack.

@@ethanisnotme they actually fixed (or changed, depending on if it was intended or not) this with i think update 1.1.2 a few weeks back, a nice surprise for me. i guess it would be cool to have the option to auto listen as soon as an effect is on, but just turning on listen will let me hear the result on the monitor now.

Should you be able to hear the effects when in use on Headphone 1? I can hear them with headphones in any other port, or a Bluetooth headset, but not plugged into Headphone 1 port. I can hear other smart pad sounds on headphone 1, but no effects.

I can hear the effects When I create a new show or revert to an old version of the show BUT I have not found the specific setting that I messed up. If you find it please let me know. I spent a lot of time on it but didn't find the EXACT setting that messed it up

Only the RØDECaster Pro II and Duo have "creative" effects like pitch shift, echo, reverb, and so on. The original RØDECaster has vocal processing effects like compression, de-esser, high pass filter, aural exciter, big bottom, and noise gate.

Pitch shifting is currently available as a voice FX on the SMART pads, however autotune is definitely something that the music community are keen to see added, so this could be something we add to a future firmware update!

Anyone else having a severe issue when you try to create personalized effects on Smart pads where when you save a button from the console it disconfigures another one from that same page? This is driving me mad, would appreciate some help. :( I have a Rodecaster Duo, firmware is up to date. Also, when I try to create effects from the Rode Central it does not apply them for some reason.

Hey @Ronz_Bunny, this video is currently out of date- to apply voice effects to two mics at once, you'll need to create two separate SMART pads at once and press them at the same time.

Hey Sam, good question! As of firmware version 1.1.1, you can only assign one microphone channel to an effect pad at a time. In order to apply effects to multiple microphone channels, you will need to set up and trigger an effect pad per channel. The major benefit of this is that you can now apply different effects to each microphone channel, and these effects are recorded on individual channels in multitrack recording mode, rather than just the main stereo mix.

Now I need to create multiple pad buttons to do the same thing for each track and remember which button is for which track. Really counterintuitive.

Hey there, to have an effect on more than one mic, you'll need to put the effect on multiple different SMART Pads and select each mic you'd like to apply it to, and then press those pads at the same time.

The auto-mute monitor output is activated by default, so when you lift a fader there is no feedback. You can adjust this in your outputs>monitor settings!

Why don't you implement the ability to process incoming audio on the fly from any input not just from mics? What is the difference from which source and through which channel the processor receives the incoming signal for FX processing - from a microphone, via USB or bluetooth? Your users will receive a hardware-based signal processing capability in real time. Just imagine how much will expand be the range of possibilities if this feature is implemented!

Hey Antonio, you can apply the Voice FX to multiple mic channels by clicking the FX you're trying to maintain, then 'edit'. Then in the top of screen you can individually select your mic channels and turn the effect on/off depending on your preferences

It would be cool to be able to have VSTs that use the computer's CPU but can be activated with the interface's pads. I'm pretty sure it's not that hard to implement. Currently there are workarounds but it's a pain in comparison to drag-and-dropping a VST to a container. I follow streamers that love having fun with audio FX but it's always the same stuff since a long time ago. I guess streamers are too amateurs but some would definitely use this functionality

Hey there- if you'd like VSTs with processing that works on your computer's side, we recommend doing this in recording software (like a DAW) or streaming software (like OBS). Ultimately, processing which is done on the computer side adds too much latency which wouldn't be ideal for this device.

I just got the RodeCaster and was a little disappointed to find out that these are the ONLY effects and you CANT ADD MORE... You really need to find out a way to allow existing VST plugins to be converted for Rodecaster... The current effects are fun, but they are a "toy" a "demo" no pro would actually use them... pro's want flexibility not a choice of 3 robots.
