In 3 months the Rodecaster Video Pro will be out with 4k or essential updates… This stuff has become so predictable. So I’ll wait to see it this is still great after a few months and wait for the 4k version with updates…

100% agree. Only I think the Video Pro version will have 4 audio xlr inputs and hopefully 4k video. I’d buy that immediately.

My guess is the device was recording in 23.978 and his cameras were running at 24fps

@@Zack-Hates-KZbin No... those lower end cameras don't shoot 24fps. They say 24ps, but it's really 23.976. True 24fps is only really useable for converting content to a film print, so lower quality cameras don't include it.

Why the hell would they make it incompatible with the Rode podcaster pro 1? How many thousands of podcasters out there have the podcaster 1 and would want to connect this to it as a switcher to synch audio and video on 1 file, but no....The mind boggles.

Zach, great review! How would I use the Rodecaster Video in connection with my Rodecaster Pro 1 so I can have 4 additional xlr inputs?

Waste of money if it can't match the up and coming Yolobox extreme which can do 4K @ 60 fps, and has a 11" OLED screen all built in, Rode are not there with this.

Receiving a product to make content with it is literally the legal definition of sponsoring in Germany. Is this different in US law?

Maybe a weird complaint, but it looks a little disorganised. The HDMI and headphone outputs sitting between the mic and video inputs, and then the USB C ports to computers and recording media once again separate from the USB C camera feeds… Wouldn't it make sense to at least bunch the various inputs next to each other and then have outputs on one side and PC, rec, ethernet on the other?

Limited multi-camera control when compared to competitor products. Lack of physical video faders, making live switching more challenging. The preview screen often doesn’t display the full resolution, causing discrepancies between what’s previewed and what goes live. The menu system is difficult to navigate, particularly when switching between video and audio functions. Overheating during extended use, especially with multiple video inputs. No 4K support, limiting its use for high-end productions. Inconsistent wireless microphone connectivity, causing audio disruptions. Latency when switching between video sources. Limited customization of graphic overlays. USB-C functionality struggles when managing both audio and video inputs at the same time. No multistreaming feature without external help. A steep learning curve, especially for new users. Lack of a battery-powered option, which reduces portability. Limited onboard storage, necessitating external drives for larger projects. Audio sync issues with video during longer recordings. No HDMI output scaling, making resolution matching across devices challenging. Lack of a built-in streaming platform for simplified streaming. Limited post-production flexibility. The bulky design makes it less suitable for compact setups. The price point doesn’t fully justify the feature set compared to other products in the market.

Super helpful video! Do you think the video coming out of this is as good as the ATEMS Minis video? A few videos that I have seen the video seems a little flat or even choppy in some. If price were not a factor, I would certainly choose this over the ATEM but now might be the perfect time to pick up a used ATEM Mini Pro ISO to pair with my Rodecaster Duo.

Two questions. First can you do wireless headsets for monitoring? Second when you use the auto switching mode can you still play something manually? Or is it all or nothing?

Sir, Can we emulate our computer, iPhone, iPad screen in this Rode Caster Video ? & Will it give me the final edit file with already edited video from the program file which can be used with other editing softwares like FCPX, Davinci Resolve etc...?. Awesome & Thanks Sir :)

Will you still be using the Rode Streamer X when now you already have the RCV? Because this RCV has more ports for both visual and audio and with a switcher in it.

I have a RodeCaster and Atem Pro Mini ISO which I use for streaming or recording multicam to harddisk disk. Other than the extra inputs, different software and screen on the device, what would be a meaningful reason to swap to this? The chroma key is nice but I still can't see too many reasons to switch. .
@willfilmsstudio1554 күн бұрын
similar here. from my research i think this can be a computer replacement as well..?? so this can replace the computer (like yolobox does), be an atem mini switcher and audio interphase.. if it does these 3 things I can justify the price for sure

Will it take a laptop HDMI out (say PowerPoint slide show) and display it via the USB-C "webcam" input as an input source? Say I have 4 cameras on HDMI 1-4 but need a 5th HDMI in for the slide show - can I do that over HDMI to USB-C cable or does it need to be USB-C to USB-C to work on the USB-C inputs?

I’m trying to figure out the same problem.. what I found online is that you can use a USB-C capture card to expand the HDMI input and get another one.. It seems to work, but no test at the moment

Only 3 EQ bands is a disappointment. It also needs macro support. I don’t know if it has sufficient computational resources to perform live denoising. Hopefully, they’ll add at least one additional EQ band, as well as macro support. Denoising is probably too much to ask. How much internal storage does it have for images & videos? Can the chroma key be used in conjunction with internal video playback?

You have to have a microSD card. No internal memory
