I asked Rode on their Facebook group, about two years ago, why they don’t incorporate a video switcher into their audio unit. They asked me “why would I ever want that?”. The way they put it made my question appear ridiculous. I just posted a link to the Atem products and left it at that. Well here we are, but a bit too late for me.

The "Auto-switching" feature is a bit misleading as the more commonly used Video Follows MIc terminology is a more transparent term. Regardless, can a "scene" be created with Rodecaster Video to perform rotating switches between cameras with the ability to set time spans for each camera angle? Can this unit perform "mix" transitions between camera switches?
@aaronpk12 күн бұрын
Not sure why you say "auto-switching" is misleading. I find the terms "audio follows video" and "video follows audio" more difficult to understand. Yes it can do mix transitions. No there is no timed auto switching, only voice activated.

@UmarSearАй бұрын
@@aaronpk That can't be worth the extra $900 can it?

@@UmarSear oh the other big thing that isn't in the GoStream is ISO recording. So considering the ATEM Mini was $300 and ATEM Mini ISO was $600 at launch, imagine the GoStream does eventually launch an ISO version I would expect it to also be $500-600. Then you'll need an external audio mixer still, and this is basically like having a RØDECaster Duo inside, which is $400. There's a fundamental difference between something like a stream deck and a video switcher like this. The stream deck is just buttons that controls software in the computer.
