Hauptergebnisse This here is the place where I will be staying There isn't a number, you can call the pay phone Let it ring a long, long, long, long time If I don't pick up, hang up, call back, let it ring some more Oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh-oh If I don't pick up, pick up The sidewinder sleeps, sleeps, sleeps in a coil Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Oh There are scratches all around the coin slot Like a heartbeat, baby, trying to wake up But this machine can only swallow money You can't lay a patch by computer design It's just a lot of stupid, stupid signs Tell her Tell her she can kiss my ass Then laugh and say that you were only kidding That way she'll know that it's really, really, really, really me, me Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Oh Baby, instant soup doesn't really grab me Today I need something more sub-sub-sub-substantial A can of beans or blackeyed peas Some Nescafe and ice A candy bar, a falling star, or a reading from Doctor Seuss Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Oh The cat in the hat came back Wrecked a lot of havoc on the way Always had a smile and a reason to pretend But their world has flat backgrounds And little need to sleep but to dream The sidewinder sleeps on his back Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) I can always sleep standing up (Call me when you try to wake her) Oh Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) I can always sleep standing up (Call me when you try to wake her) Oh Call me when you try to wake her up (Call me when you try to wake her) I can always sleep standing up (Call me when you try to wake her) I can always sleep standing up (Call me when you try to wake her) We've got to moogie, moogie, move on this one 😊

My name's Tony, and for ages I thought the chorus was saying 'Tony- Tie- Breaker'. I sang it with those words like it was my personal anthem or something. I thought I was being cool, but people must have thought I was an idiot. Now the odd looks make sense!
@Themanwhocameback2 Жыл бұрын
No. Because nobody has ever known what Michael was singing in that catchy chorus. I always thought it was just nonsense syllables. If those are the words, he is saying he intentionally sang them garbled.

I always thought this one was about an absentee father pining to speak with his infant daughter. "Quiet Jungle" intro, candy and nursery rhyme reference, sleep standing up just hear the voice of what you love the most, pondering on the silly things they might do together. However the military jargon code could also make sense, REM always striked me as an act that doesn't want you to really know.

Woow, so that's what they were saying... almost 30 years later I discover what the hell they were saying, 'cos I dind't understand shit of the chorus. I'd just started learning English a couple of years before, with a neighbourhood teacher (I was 13 when this song was realeased) and all my mind was hearing was "callyou chabeeekaaaa, callyou chabeeeekaaaa" and I would think "Ok, it's just that I haven't learnt that yet, eventually I'll learn that structure and I'll be able to understand"LOL I was so innocent! Fast forward 30 years, me thinking, Ok, I'm an EFL teacher now, I'm supposed to understand, let's see. Well, I still had to read the lyrics to see what on earth were the actual words! On a side note, no wonder English is so hard to understand when you're not aware that what word by word should sound as eight distinct syllables, may actually end up sounding as four.

Ha there used to be a UK program on TV called “It’ll be alright on the night” and they showed an Italian cookery program were the chef was showing viewers ‘ Worcestershire sauce’ watching him trying to pronounce it was hilarious 😂 it took him ages to say it and it was miles wrong, if you’ve been speaking English for 30years then you probably know that we pronounce it “wuster sheh sauce” 😂

IF people really thought what this song is about: "Call me when you TRY to wake her up"....plus The sidewinder sleeps tonight. We have the sleeping masses now. Humanity is waking up. The Sidewinder is the coil of the old telephone. (Sidewinder sleeps in a coil). Kundalini energy is referred to as the serpents' coil that sleeps at the base of the root chakra. Travels up to the pineal gland during a spiritual awakening. Last verse: He's sick of the mundane and uninspired, looking for more to feed his soul-- Very much what is happening over the planet now. Do your research if you are still SLEEPING. I KNEW this song when younger. Never made sense because I was only just starting to 'wake up'. Last phrase: We've got to boogie, boogie move" on this one. Seriously. The entertainers know EXACTLY what the plan for humanity was back then. They drop hints, to try to awaken as they call us 'the profane'. LOVE this song! His writing is genius. Very cleverly disguised what he is really talking about.
