The stalker mom only SEEMS illegal? Libel and slander are illegal. Stalking is illegal. Stalking minors is another kind of illegal. Assault and battery is illegal. And all because the stuck up little girl had her feelings hurt because a secret note went unnoticed. That mom should be facing charges.

@@selenewan7485 They certainly do in China and Vietnam. I've seen way too much. Child abuse is the norm there. Sure there are exceptions, but it still breaks my heart to see how slowly things are changing there. India is right up there, too. Wobbles and Bean I grew up with Chinese parents (I was born in mainland China) and my parents were nowhere near the level of the Asian mom in this video. I also have lots of Chinese friends who have nice, reasonable parents who are not abusive like you say. Perhaps your experiences were different, but it does no one any good to compare cultures like that and stereotype families based only on what you’ve seen.

Exactly. You need to give positive feedback loops to children, or as I like to call it - a sandwich feedback. The two pieces of bread are things that a child does well, while everything inside like the cheese and ham are things the child could improve on. For example, "Hey kid, that's really beautiful handwriting, but hold your pencil a little more loosely. It'll help relax your hand and prevent it from becoming sore. I must say though, you write much neater than me. Keep it up."

Really wish my parents could get their heads around this concept too... I have some issues which means people yelling at me often ends with me in inconsolable tears. It’s bad enough at school when a teacher gets a little harsh, I can deal with them- but at home... nope. I don’t know how many times my parents have told me “You really need to stop this crying thing”, if I could I would. Full on breakdowns from my mom getting annoyed at me because I’m not cleaning my room quick enough aren’t fun! So yeah, this should be in general- people don’t respond well if they feel threatened/degraded. Just take a breath before getting angry.

The second story reminds me of my 'friend' Charlie. We were 6 and in infant school which is second grade. I went to Charlie's House often, and loved her family. I brought a doll to school and wouldn't let her redress her because I never got toys like this. My parents were very poor. The next day she told the teacher I was saying horrible things about her older brother. He was in a wheelchair and was very disabled. It got to the point that her mother went to the headmaster, and i was sent to talk to him. Now I was 6 and remember some of this and my dad told me the rest she'd told her mum that id had taken her doll, and that I'd said horrible things about brother Jon. My doll had gone missing from.my bag and I knew she had it. I told the truth but they didn't believe me. So the headmaster called my parents to come in. My parents arrived and Charlie's mum went pale...there was my mum being pushed in a wheel chair by my dad... My dad also brought the box my doll had come in, and the receipt (he never threw anything away) Charlies mum tried to say it was a misunderstanding and grabbed charlie to leave. My dad noticing charlies backpack had an unmistakable large bulge asked for my doll back. Charlies mum tried to say she didn't have it, and the headmaster opened her bag showing my doll sitting in it..with a different dress. Charlie had taken it, put on a dress from one of her dolls and had been carrying it around in her bag for two days. This wasn't the last time she pulled this, she also tried to get another girl in trouble for calling her brother horrible words...the problem with that is the girl had never met him. And didnt know what she meant.

Just a rant from an Asian, tl;dr below. Korean here. Our country is small, very small, and half of the land is made of mountains; no resources(oil, gems, etc) that can help our economy grow, so our only shot at success is through education. You'll see kids in sixth grade doing middle-school stuff here. You'll see kids in fifth grade leaning heavily on private education, spending hours in a.. academy? _Hagwon_ to ensure they have a head start. Since the starting line is so far ahead, we have to study and study, lest we be left behind. I'll be attending high school next year. I'm studying Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry to get prepared for the flow of work that's coming my way. It's normal for our phones to be confiscated for little reason. It's normal for our phones to have thirty-minute time limits. It's normal for us to be tracked through our phones, for our parents to know what we're doing with out phones every second of the day. Caffeine and sugar has been our best friends since we could properly write. I'm pretty sure my blood vessels are made of coffee now. Enough about my life and education. Onto the subject of Asian Karens now. One sentence: Dumb minds think alike. Seriously. There's Karens everywhere, yay. Tl;dr: Highschool sucks, mountains suck, Karens are everywhere and they suck too.

I agree, but they should also have to provide a couple of reasons for the choice and maybe at least one reason why they don't want the other parent, for example if it were just a normal break up, no fighting or anything abusive going on, it seems too easy for a kid to just pick the fun parent who gives them toys/candy over the responsible one who makes them clean their room/eat broccoli but if there was a problem obviously the kid saying "Mom yells at me" is a bit of a red flag.

As the oldest child in a divorce (happened when I was 6), I couldn't disagree more. Here's my take: I absolutely would have chosen my mother over my father if given the chance - she was objectively better at actually being a parent to children. My father ended up abusing me once I got older (we're currently no contact and I intend to remain so for the rest of his life). But ultimately? Looking back at the custody hearings, I still think the court made the right decision. My father was by far the most fiscally stable of the two - he owned the house they/we lived in, he was pretty well off from being the heir to a successful family business, he had a good fallback support in the forn of his parents who owned said business. My mother? Bounced around from place to place after the divorce, didn't have a stable home life for years, ended up marrying an alcoholic crackhead (in her defense, he only got worse after they had my half-brother), and her mother's home wasn't exactly stable either. Sometimes you can't do what's BEST for a kid - you can only do what's RIGHT relative to your position and the facts of the case. The main priority of the court was making sure my sister and I could have a stable home environment with a roof over our head at all times and food on the table, and I thank them for it even knowing how my father ended up later. No child deserves to be on the edge of homelessness for months at a time.

@wittypunhere703
@wittypunhere703 4 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. They don't "read", they recognize the general "shape" of the word (sight-reading). This can actually be done at ages as early as 1 year (search in youtube, you'll see some 1 year olds walking around and picking up papers with words like "circle", "square", or "triangle" when parents call them out). The problem is, as they don't know phonetic reading, they are easily fooled by words with similar spellings (like "track", "trick", and "truck"), and parents don't always understand that sight-reading has to be balanced by phonetic study and reading to maximize reading capability and comprehension.

Isn’t that normal..? At 3 most kids (or at least Asian kids) are put into childcare centres or kindergarten centres because by 6, we have to learn how to add, subtract, tell time and learn at least one language well (in the country I’m in we have to learn both English and Chinese and have to be able to write a simple sentence by 5). By 8, we start to learn multiplication and division plus fractions. At 9, we learn fractions in word problems. At 10, we learn ratio and start learning algebra. Of course idk what things you are leaning when you are three but from an asians point of view, seems pretty normal to me

The first story is really a story of you reap what you sow. Offering language CLASSES for children below the age of 5 is a joke in and of itself. Just put them into an all-english speaking environment. They pick the language up all by themselves because that's what small children do. Flash cards with written text for a 2yo make my head hurt.

I feel so bad for the son of the Asian Karen. During my childhood where developing motor skills and other basics for later in life I got made fun of a lot for many things. My reading was slow so I never wanted to read out loud during class. I fixed it myself by reading to my stuffed animals for 30 minutes. Now it takes me only 2 hours to read a 300 page book. I stuttered a lot as a kid mostly repeating words I’ve already said or unable to pronounce words like rainbow and scissors. I got made fun of by my family by that one mostly so I’m quiet in class. I was born left handed and my dad always tried fixing that by giving this in my right hand. When he caught me with something in my left hand like a pencil he’d scream at me saying it was the wrong hand and shoved the item into my right hand. Thanks to him I can write with both hands and I can’t use scissors properly. I’m still struggling to even accept that getting a B on a test is okay and to hide the score from my mom. Whatever I did that wasn’t an A was always “why isn’t it an A? What did you do wrong?” And she’d threatened whatever she could even if it meant I didn’t get to eat as good as my sisters. And being from immigrant parents and a traditional Mexican mother it was also “I didn’t come to this country just so you could a 8/10 on a test. Is this how you repay me? I give you a house and food and all you can give me is an 8?” I feel so bad for that child. And I hope he realizes that living up to your parent’s expectations is not determined by how worthy you are as a human being.

I can relate to the first story so much! I’m an Esl teacher and I used to work in mainland China, so I’ve seen my fair share of entitled parents. These parents expect their child to learn English by osmosis it seems. Like sometimes they will put you and their child together and say, “go ahead!!! Speak English to them!” When the kid doesn’t even know what the word “hello” is 😑 and the same parents expect the kids to learn things INSTANTLY, like this EM in the story. Learning languages takes time!! For any age group! Yes it is better to start learning languages when you’re young, but that’s not a guarantee that they will be fluent when they grow up, like OP.

Here is some rules if you ever find yourself infront of a Karen 1. Record her going ballistic at you or someone else if she lies about it 2. Wear a mask you know they don't like that 3. Speak calmly but sternly to them so they don't think that you want to argue they'll try to use it against you (but you'll probably have evidence to prove otherwise) 4. If you have a Switch, Laptop, and/or you're phone they might ask to let their demon spawn see it lie and say it died power it down as well keep a close eye on it 5. If you and someone you know can speak a different language make joking comments about her if she acts crazy in public 6. If she mocks your culture try to make smart remarks about her and how she is disrespecting her's 7. (If you're in the work business listen) If you have a manager that's good they'll listen to your side of the story as well if the Karen is lying about you 8. If they also ask for a discount for absolutely nothing don't give in to it 9. (Going back to everyone) If they say things like video games and cartoons are for children either tell her that's immature and who's the childish one now 10. Finally going back to number 3 try to be calm while taking to them but be serious as well. Those are things you can try and do if you ever come into contact with a Amentes ut diaboli mulieribus (Translate that from Latin you'll get a laugh)

The point of censoring content of KZbin's side is to keep videos advertiser friendly. Coka Cola doesn't want to be associated with Corona, so they won't put ads on videos on Corona (it's not that straightforward obviously), so KZbin discourages the use of it.

Oh man The stalking mom story is so similar to what I went through. A girl in my class constantly lied about me to her mom and the mom was determined to get me expelled. She called the school every time her daughter made up a bs story and would make a scene if they proved the accusations wrong. The mom began to stalk me as well and even set it up to where she picked up her daughter the same time as my usual early pick up time ( I had physical therapy every week). When she showed up, she started screaming at my mother and talked about how horrible and evil I was for “ bullying “ her daughter. The whole experience left me untrusting of other kids and suicidal(I was in 4th grade btw). The only difference is that my parents and school were always on my side and the girl ended up getting moved out of my class so she couldn’t harass me anymore. Now that i’m 18 I realize the girl did it mainly to get her mother’s attention and I more feel bad for her that she had to go to extremes to get it but man what she did messed me up for years and I can never forgive her for that

Im a teacher. I once had an EM berate me at Parent Conference Night (which my school holds in the gym...teachers each have an assigned area, and it’s not particularly private). Her 16 year old son was failing my English class, and he had tons of missing assignments (important to note our grade books are online, and parents can access them ANY time). Over a DOZEN of the missing assignments were HOMEWORK assignments...meaning, I have NO CONTROL over whether a kid does or does not do them because they’re not in my care. She goes on for probably about 10 minutes about what a horrible teacher I am, how her son and all his friends say they’re not learning from me and blah blah blah...I try to let her know that he often comes late, and he and those friends often talk DURING my lessons, so that is possibly why they aren’t learning as much as they could be. I remained very polite throughout, and reminded her of my late work policy (he could still do the work for 50% and earn some points). He never did, and within a month we were virtual, so I didn’t have to deal with her again. I couldn’t believe how she wouldn’t take any responsibility for her student’s grade, when most of what was missing was HOMEWORK.

To make them get better, both the child and school system have to sit down and talk to them to make them understand that the way they treat their child is not right. It got a lot better after that, but it was really hard to get to that point. I was a senior in high school, diagnosed with both depression and anxiety, and had a mental breakdown where I just cried for 2 hours about a week before hand. I hope whoever reads this life will get better, but it takes time, effort, luck, and many people for that to happy. Thanks for listening to my rant and have a nice day.
