Regarding the cables. There are a lot of reasons it's like that. Firstly, most electricians/IT workers aren't allowed to cut the cables to length because "the customer/company paid for the whole thing" and so they have to roll it up and leave it hanging in the air. Secondly, they are paid to attach the cables, and they don't bother doing anything more than that because it's too little pay for the work. Thirdly, Pakistan/India/Bangladesh have a lot of people walking around all the time so unless they do it at midnight, they will be either getting in someone's way or someone might be getting in their way. And lastly, they usually are underemployed, so all the workers are on a tight schedule. Overall, it's like that because cleaning up is just not worth it. As for injuries/fatalities from the cables, it's a mixed bag. The bad cable management is usually not the problem, it's the bad equipment/poorly managed infrastructure.
@bluestreaker924222 күн бұрын
Yeah, that all tracks, honestly. I try to give the benefit of the doubt for stuff like that because sometimes it's an issue with contracts where "that's not my job and if I do that which is not my job I am liable for legal damages incurred", so when someone says "that's not my job" it CAN come off as sardonic, but in many cases, it is quite literally not their job and they're just looking out for other people rather than just themselves; because let's be real, Spongebob was spittin' straight facts, "I've got a better idea! Why don't I CALL someone to come fix the TV! You know why? Because when I want a JOB done, I CALL someone whose JOB it is to DO that JOB!", ergo if that job isn't done, and it wasn't my job, then call the guy whose job that is: t'ain't MY fault if something that wasn't my job ain't gettin' done, ya know? >;)

the thing i don't understand about those cables... there's SOOO much extra cable hanging there... how have copper thieves not cut the cables, removed the excess, then reconnected the cables so no one complains? it's just data cables, so there's no fear of electrocution or whatever, and if you do it at night, most people won't even realize anything changed.
@trishapellis23 күн бұрын

Some lady in the USA bought one of those Mattel-boxes with the wrong URL (after that mistake was known, seemingly) and then tried to sue Mattel for some stupid sum (like several millions) because "her daughter saw adult content". Except...A, why was the kid on the internet on her own, and B pulling up that URL doesn't show adult content, it shows a "verify age"-site.

Take this with a giant grain of salt. I watched this documentary/news video years ago (so my memory may not be quite correct on the details) about how the majority of people in the slums of India don’t get electricity because they can’t afford to pay for it. Well, there are still electricity poles and cables that run through the slums. This documentary was about this guy who figured out how to steal electricity from these cables and provide it to the slum community. He’s mentioned that’s he’s been shocked hundreds, maybe thousands of times setting individual cables up one by one from pole to house. The electric company was interviewed and they stated that they’ve torn down and disposed of all the cables before but in like a few weeks, it’s all back up again. They plan to sue but it’s on the back burner. They were more concerned about expanding India’s infrastructure to support their electric company. The cable guy stated he’s broke as fuck which is why they don’t actually sue because what are they gonna take from him, he’s got nothing. He says that until his body isn’t able to anymore, he’ll continue climbing the electricity poles and attaching the cables. He doesn’t want anyone else to do it because he’s been shocked so many times that it’s not something he would wish upon anyone else. He’s just doing it to give back to the community. I would assume it’s a similar situation in Bangladesh.

really putting some thought into it the blaming feng shui meme is kinda on point. if you can change your furniture after something happens you're in a better mindset instead of blaming someone else and sitting there sulking about it and you might subconsciously not repeat it even if you're set on it being the feng shui's fault

@red_inblack26 күн бұрын
8:23, yah, that is in my town I think, and actually this is not the largest of them i have seen Reason for this is not cutting the access fiver optics cable, because it is expensive to join them back together if you need longer cable, and we have a too many ISP in bigger cities and also people moving is very common and also people switching ISP company is very common. So ISP just use the full available bundle, or keep at-least enough to cover houses at the ends of a street and some extra. some of these extra are kept in bundle like these or smaller bundle out side of the destination house. Like I have about 100 meters of cable hanging on side of the house. edit- and we also have the mess with electrical wires like Brazil does, no inspecting for general people and you do not need licence to do electrical work. soo this happens
@amendoim_zinho63084 күн бұрын
10:10 that is what we call a "gato" (same as cat😅) basically, someone pays for electricity and to save money instaling the proper equipment people start "tapping" the electricity. Most pay for the one getting the electricity stolen.

@Dai_4025 күн бұрын
For the cables in Bangladesh Half of it is laziness Another half is because customers sometimes buys cables longer than needed because it is kinda hard to buy them at precise length So they just round them up in a bundle and keep those there There are also some areas almost designate to keep those types of wires hanging Though somehow electricians find the cable they need
