@@pumpkinpatch7841 I'm not very eloquent, but I'll try. Those three particular foods, in the U.S. at least, are stereotyped as, "black people food" for various reasons. By itself, it's just food, of course. But putting them all together and highlighting them as "black history month special" is pretty tone deaf at best. "We're learning the black history so we better eat the black people food" type vibes.

Yeah.. my dad was like "clean up my house, clean up my trash, do everything I say, because you're going to get married at some point and your husband will not want to do this stuff either, you'll get used to it while doing it for me first." this, among other things that he and other people did that were abusive, have sent me down a path of bad mental health. It made me hate house chores and now it's even harder for me to do because unless it's absolutely necessary I'll try to avoid it at all costs. I hated what he did to make me do this (including keeping me awake all night until I gave in and did whatever stupid thing he wanted) and he didn't train me for shit. He just made me hate him and I've gone with the lowest contact I'm able to do.. I feel for those girls. There's a clear difference between teaching how to do house chores, and being told you're only seen as a slave in a man's eyes.

And then because my brain is twisted and strange it inserted the church song 'Deep and Wide'.

Pretty sure that dad with the daughters cleaning up is just taking advantage of their kids as little butlers. I literally thought little free butlers was *the point* of having kids was until I was like 10. My parents did this (when they were even around) when I was very young and now at 35, I still find it difficult not to go around making sure their drinks are always topped off like a server at a restaurant, offering them snacks at regular intervals, etc etc etc when I am around them. For whatever reason, it resulted in me not being able to motivate myself to do any of these things for myself, and my places always look like a total disaster, and I even used to end up malnutrioned if I'm not taking care of someone else as well. This was probably the least of the shitty stuff my parents did to, but man can parents really mess you up/make you weird.

Hey Click, in case it comes up again; in the U.S. some states allow “conjugal visits” for inmates who are already married when they are arrested. It’s only available to inmates in prison, versus jail. (Jail is a city or county lock-up, and usually for sentences under 1 year) and it’s usually a weekend visit with the kids, not just for the purpose of having sex. The couple shown were definitely in a jail situation, not prison. In prison visits are conducted in a large open room, and you sit at a table with your family, versus the phone and glass affair pictured. There is very little chance that the couple in that video have had any physical contact since his incarceration. Maybe she’s just not smart enough to see the problem?

@@RainCheck797 well she can prove that he knew of her cheating before the wedding and married her anyway. if he gets unlucky it gets denied and the wife could drag out the divorce.
