I think the mother wanted to be a hero in front of her daughter when she did the cyberbullying. It's like creating a house fire and saving everyone yourself and pretending it wasn't you. Something called Hero Syndrome or something else. I read once on reddit about how a gf gave bad reviews and badmouthed his bf at every workplace he worked at, while he was trying to escape those 'people who deliberately made the false reports' by changing jobs. And the gf comforted and helped him. He then later discovered what his gf had done after he saw a text pop up from his store manager replying about the toxic message, and that she made a lot of alt accounts for cyberbullying op and appearing as a Hero in front of him. Needless to say, they broke up. This could be the same with the mother and her daughter

I really appreciate the song "Escape" (the Pina Colada song) for being pretty wholesome, especially since for a long time I hadn't really heard the lyrics besides the chorus. But it's literally like the excitement has gone out of the relationship and they're in "the same old dull routine" and then when they meet each other thinking they are meeting other people, they laugh about it and the singer says that he "never knew" about all the stuff his partner liked that he got so excited about. So overall, I guess it's about the importance of communication in a relationship.

Again, the song is cute and funny and catchy and personally I like to think they make it work, but no, it's not wholesome. Is it possible that this word doesn't mean what you think it means? When used in reference to character or a relationship, "wholesome" typically correlates with a healthy degree of moral integrity and trustworthiness.

This is such a beautiful idea, and one I have thoufht of before but never thought Id see 😭💞 Elderly pets often dont need much extra care unless they have significant illness and such. Families often dont want them because they get bored of the pet sleeping all the time and such. ThIs is perfect because seniors at that point dont often need a puppy running around needing training and daily walks. This allows them to find a companion they can spend the rest of their life with, and the pups dont spend their last days in cages alone. Its absolutely beautiful...

The lamp packed like a body bag reminds me of something that happened a few years ago. Someone I know works at a company that makes machines against cancer. They sometimes travel to other parts of the company by plane and once they brought back something. It was an anatomically correct, life-sized (fake) male upper body they used for testing. They just put it in their suitcase and forgot about it, until the suitcase got to where they scan it. They had to go to security and tried to explain what it was for about 15 minutes, until security finally opened the suitcase and saw that it was fake. Everyone was pretty relieved😂

The "Sticks and stones" thing reminds me of the time my bard accidentally one-shotted the first boss in our DnD campaign. He was an orcish wizard, and clearly knew the (amnesiac) half-orc barbarian, so I was specifically trying NOT to kill him, despite rolling high on the initiative, so I used Vicious mockery...rolled a 4 (on a d4) and my spellcasting bonus was +6. That squishy "beginner boss" wizard died before he got to cast a single spell (he was supposed to cast spells that would make him very hard to hit). That coined the phrase: "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will fucking kill you." (Bard took the spell book and ended up multiclassing into Wizard, so I had a Spirit Bard Necromancer by the end of that arc of the campaign. Definitely my favorite character that I've played, though she's an NPC now)

Same happened to me but thank goodness before the ride. It was the big ride of that park and while I'd say your experience was worst it was horrible just feeling the attendants trying to slam this lap bar into place. Switched seats with my partner to see if it would change anything. Wouldn't lock for him so they apologized and gave us fast passes for waiting two hours just to get bruised by the attempts to secure us in. I will give them credit, they never blamed it on our weight. They admitted from the start it was likely a mechanical error. But the whole time I was thinking "If they give up and try to just launch this thing, I'm so suing!"

Can confirm on the pricing. My workplace was moving to a smaller space and wanted to get rid of a bunch of furniture, so at first, they actually sold items... then when there weren't that many left, they put them out front with signs with prices on them but had then close enough to the curb that someone could roll up and take off with them, and that way they didn't have to haul any of it. Meanwhile, I used to work with my mother at craft shows selling hand-made jewelry and crafty stuffs, and if you didn't find the sweet spot, you'd never sell anything. You had to make sure it was enough that people didn't think you were selling junk, but not so high that they'd think it was too expensive and just leave.

6:22 may I add that the point of Escape (The Piña Colada Song) is that both husband and wife feel dissatisfied with their love life, but are too afraid to tell their SO about that, hence why they seek an affair and when they meet each other at the secret date, they finally realize they have the same (or compatible) unfulfilled desires and with this knowledge they can be a happy couple again. This sounds like such a missed opportunity to figure out why they weren't satisfied with each other anymore. But who knows, maybe they did talk about it, maybe came clean about their desires and realized they really could not give each other what they need...

I mean, to be fair, it also represents an extreme breach of trust from both parties, and its possible that one (or both) of them found that breach of trust to much to want to surmount or try to pursue the relationship following. While that's arguably hypocritical, obviously, relationships aren't generally founded on good, thorough logical considerations most days.

@@thaddeusgenhelm8979 nah, the ending of the third verse and the chorus that follows makes it pretty clear that they are amused and relieved at how the whole thing turned out and that it rekindled the flame of their relationship. Ultimately, the message of the song is that many couples don't talk enough about their thoughts & feelings with one another. Keep in mind, this song was written in 1979, the importance of communication in a relationship wasn't on a lot of people's minds back then. Many people still thought or were taught that strict, gender-based roles and obedience of the wife to the husband were the key elements of a successful marriage instead.
