Oh, Vangelis was called Evangelos! Interesting... Vangelis, or shorter version Vangel is a name that is very often on those parts. Evangelos comes from Evangelion, a gospel in Greek, or Evangelie, the same in many South and East Slavic languages.

I would agree, except to say that if not for any ‘one’ of the many parts continuously collaborating to create this masterpiece, Blade Runner certainly would not be the now-time-honored work of true cinematic art that it is. The stars were in alignment for this - my favorite, movie.

Absolutely marvellous. I watched the movie in 1981 when I was a young boy, now I am 62, and I will never, ever, forget the beauty of all the soundtrack. "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain." RIP Vangelis!

I'm 55 and I've always thought of this as a perfect movie that I come back to all the time. It has all the obvious strengths but then there's that certain something that is hard to put your finger on but it's like the movie gods waved a magic wand over it and magic happened. In this scene - Rachel at Deckard's piano - Sean Young looks as fine and lovely as a woman can possibly appear. Her dark eyes and the symmetry of her perfect features are overwhelming, too much beauty to be encompassed in one gaze, sparsely lit yet blinding.

0 seconds ago I had to stop for a sleep having driven hours around the Scottish Higglands, put Blade runner theme music on ,, woke up some time later just as the light was fading ,heavy rain pouring down , the mountains were topped with white mist and I heard this beautiful piece playing,, still dreaming ,for a minute I was driving away in the car at the end of the movie , what a shame Racheal wasn't sitting next to me, ,, we can dream right, thank you for this heavenly masterpiece.x

Oh wow, I also have driven through the Scottish Highlands with the Bladerunner movie soundtrack. As well as other new age music. Because It seems as old as time, but a modern as tomorrow. I also played Clannard & Enya to Del Amitri & Floyd. I was in my own movie, sharing it, back then, with my wee bonny Scottish girlfriend. The Highlands, especially the west coast, up to Applecross. Magical memories I never wanted to end..

I've played the piano since I was an 8 year old child and by ear , I still play and in the early 80's this song memories of green is a song I play often in solitude. It brings me to a place where I feel feel a redemption of sort. Lots of love here. And Rachel is so beautiful making the song so memorable.

I really love it. The Sax and Bass are obviously "real" - I don't sense a fretless bass in there. Would love to know what synths you are using - electric piano sound sounds like an FM synth but the rest analogue heaven - so clever.@@LUX-AmbientMusic

Thank you for paying your respects to my compatriot Vangelis. The legend... I still remember the day he passed away. It was all over the news here in Greece. This is the song that made me find your channel some days ago and I have been hooked to your work since. Once again you remade this one giving a unique touch which sounds very well made. I happen to be going through a breakup this past month and I'm also in need of some drastic changes in my life right now which further up my anxiety, and your creations have helped me relax so much this past week. Fantastic. Always loved this song and film. For almost 20 years after the movie came out, there was the one version of this soundtrack before the Vangelis version was released on CD unless you were able to get one of those bootlegs (which I was never able to find as it was really hard pre(or early)-internet). Just came across this channel and a couple others with BR inspired thematic music.
