Sometimes the way a woman in a piece of media describes another woman is so wild it makes me think that the character is just full on attracted to her. Like that meme about Dolly Parton’s “Jolene". His arms were like sausages, strung together in links, bulging in the middle and tapering at the joints. His eyes were like mirror-pools, I could see myself reflected in them as pure water - yet they lacked a certain purity. His lips were cracked, like a frozen lake beneath Autumn, and I thought about how dry they must be, and how I aught to moisten them. His hair was like cascading ink, as though spilled from the inkwell of some unlucky writer - all the meaning that may have been on paper dripping down his head. He was unlike so many men, whose flabby forms reflect a life spent on indolence. The edifice of his body was as angular and rough as crudely-chipped stone, yet as milk-white and clean as marble. A testament to a life lived as roughly as his flesh. A testament to what a man aught to be."

Ever thought of doing The Eye of Argon? The love interest has "stringy orchid twines of hair swaying gracefully over the lithe opaque nose" - The Eye of Argon is an infamous fantasy novella written by a 16 year old in the 70's and he got a lot of use out of his thesaurus. The prose is so purple as to be basically unreadable and the same character dies in the 2nd chapter and near the end because the writer forgot about him. It's great.

0:44 that’s rather odd because even at menopause literally most of the eggs are still present in a woman’s ovaries compared to those present at birth.(both numbers are in the millions) It’s not like they run out, they just stop coming out.

The paisley worm lips remind me of the prosthetic lip they put on the Phantom of the Opera in the musical

The only thing I can learn from this series is this: No one knows how to describe a human in an actually flattering way.

Its funny that even some also fail at writing women, just like some men fail writing women. This also makes me scared about the opposite, men writing men. But anyway, I love this series, its absolutely hilarious how both men and women sometimes fail at writing each other, and even themselves

I think when they say "scrubbed", they mean the character was wearing doctor or nurse scrubs; like when someone is " scrubbed in" for surgery or something

"I assume she wants to talk to me about lolita but well see-" dead. but also "bird queen vibes" is just- lmao (on reading other comments, I don't think she said bird queen, but I think it's funny so I will chose to hear it that way)

The first one has me asking if i should get the FBI or not, considering how i thought i was bad for sexualising characters, however i only do that w/ adult OCs that aren't animals, children or corpses, but GOD DAMN

I was gonna suggest Victor Hugo's description of characters in Les Misérables, but then I realized that his descriptions aren't exactly r/menwritingwomen worthy, they're just kind of out there sometimes ( i.e, Marius being described as having "passionate nostrils" )

Honestly that's a great descriptor. It makes me picture someone that huffs and puffs like a bull with their nostrils flared. With no other clues besides the name, I picture a bulldozer of a man with a big black mustache and a fiery, heroic spirit- who, if not broad-shouldered, carried himself as if he were

@@tahutoa Thing is, the character's actually kind of a twink and a massive dork who mostly has no idea what he's doing.

One of these episodes is the reason I spread my (currently in progress) vtuber's freckles up to her eyelids! LavenderTowne commented on how frustrating the "perfect placement/amount of freckles" bs is because you both don't control it and there is no perfect amount. I grew up with two siblings that got freckles everywhere, they practically have masks, their faces are so covered! I've been doing a disservice by drawing so many characters without freckles, lol... I myself have them.

when we allow women to write women we get she-hulk and captain marvel

Are you seriously generalising female authors based on Marvel examples? There's plenty of great male and female authors that can absolutely write good male and female characters.
