Ah so most people have probably heard of "Drop bears" by now, but the meme literally started because of some freaky strong winds in the late 70's that literally blew the koala's out of trees. Most animals would realise "Oh crap this tree is shaking big time better bail", however Koala's are literally smooth brained, not an expression, their brains are literally smooth, so they just ignore the problem. So yeah, if we get strong enough winds they will just plop out of trees, its just rare to get winds that strong.

Hi Lexi!! Australian here! Koalas are endangered, yes, but there's still a bunch in the wild, but mostly outside cities (obviously). They're mostly on the Eastern Coast, so the pic from Victoria, as they seem to live in the outback, are smack bang in the middle of their habitat! Like Kookaburras, Koalas are rarer on the West Coast than the East. I live in Western Australia and have never seen a wild Koala, but I know they aren't exactly uncommon in the East (mainly since the bushfires we had last year were in the East, there were a ton of things around about saving Koalas, and now with the flooding, there's more around again). Hope this clears things up!!

Koalas are literally stoned/drunk because of the literal poison in their main source of food: eucalyptus leaves. And can sleep 23 hours a day because of this. But you don't want to make them angry when they are awake. 2" claws made for holding onto trees are powerful

2:41 if you go to the Oregon coast it doesn’t often look like that because it is often windy, cloudy or rainy so definitely bring a windbreaker and DON’T GO IN THE WATER. IT IS FREEZING. The best part about it is probably the tide pools and if you go to seaside you can find the Lewis and Clark saltworks which my family owns the house in front of and vacations to often.
