The shoe thing was hilarious, because I was hanging out with my friend and he noticed my shoes. "I have those same shoes, but they're men's." I looked at him and said, "These ARE the men's shoes. They didn't have solid black in the 'women's' styles, so I just bought these." Once I explained to him that US men's sneakers are exactly the same as women's, just two sizes lower, he declared that we were "shoe besties" and that now he knew what size women's shoes he could get.

I hold the same belief in makeup for men. If makeup made specifically for men, makes men more comfortable in trying it, more power to them. One of my favourite brands recently made a line for men. It was a simple line consisting of: a cleanser, a moisturizer, an eye gel, some tinted cream, a concealer (I believe) and a beard and brow gel. All in plain black packaging with white text. And they chose the manliest looking Chad to do the product pics. A dark haired dude with a well groomed short beard with piercing model eyes. Your typical Chad. They also made a genderless collection once. And it was fun as hell since the promo pics had a man and a woman all decked out in makeuppy makeup. So not your typical everyday makeup, but the going out kind. I know society sometimes holds both genders to crazy unattainable standards. So slapping 'For Men' on a product maybe will help men know they can too enjoy candles, makeup and body care.

2:35 Crying should be reserved only for times when we are experiencing such intense emotion that our bodies literally can *not* handle it. Cause I'm pretty damn sure that we cry when our emotions are just too strong for our bodies to take it, so it vents it out of the tear ducts. This is wildly simplifying it, but the point is made :)

@@Milk-ck1wv 100% agree, but my point for the comment was to express that we typically cry when our emotions are too strong and our bodies need to vent them somehow, and that goes for all emotions. Holding them in at that point probably isn't healthy either.

That moment absolutely broke it down to its true meaning. Like, yeah, actually, a lot of the people shaming men for feeling emotions other than "manly rage" probably did have awful upbringings where they weren't allowed to feel. That's why they think like that. Genuinely, most mean and shitty people got that behavior from their parents or from other influential adults in their childhoods. The likelihood of someone being raised well and suddenly going off the awful personality deep end later in life is pretty low (not impossible, but even then there's usually some psychological reasoning for the change, such as exposure to echo chambers while at a low point in their life where they're willing to believe anything if it can give an easy target to blame for their problems)

With the pink tool set, I had a female friend, who was a trucker, who made all of the things she'd need, pink, so none of the guys would take them. Everyone knew they were hers' so when she'd loan them out, everyone would ask the guy, "Does she know you have that?" I also once got a friend a set of flower-handled tools, so her husband would stop taking her tools and claiming they were his.

Pointlessly gendered always reminds me how ine year at my elementary school we all got christmas presents and all the boys got those footballs/soccerballs attached to belts with a strechy string while the girls got tiny cheap notebooks and pens with cute animals on them. Like one (15cm) notebook and one pen per girl.
@SuperMarkerComicBro

As a kid, I probably would've wanted the football/soccer ball, just to fit in. But as an adult (and probably secretly as a kid), those notebooks sound way better.
@EmmyEmber8

@@SuperMarkerComicBro As an 7 or 8 year old, those notebooks and pens were kinda boring. Either way the price was what upset me more, those notebooks and pens were like 3 bucks for 5 at the nearby toy store while those balls were at least 12 each.

As a woman I found very liberating seeing Felix Jaehn's last posts as he looks super happy in his new skin. Which is something I've been going through as a non conventionally dressed woman. It makes me feel liberated to see men dress like me or go all out. It also makes me feel happy to be able to do that myself. For example I have a specific outfit my mom finds super stylish but to me is the peak of gender breaking norms. It's made up of this super oversized boxy cropped obnoxious pink shirt, paired with my knee length white with thin black stripes wide shorts, white ankle length socks, my short black all stars with "my story" written all over them in neon colours, a silver chain and obnoxious pink jelly rectangular sunglasses. This outfit makes me so happy for some reason. Because it makes me look very boyish whilst still being my feminine self. Also another thing that made me super happy was the zalando advertising in Rome in 2021. They had unconventional or gender norm breaking clothes on young men with the caption "You can find this in the men's section". It made my little tiny heart so incredibly warm and fuzzy. I honestly love when men do that. I'm not afraid to say I'd only date a man who can wear boots nonchalantly. And is interested in makeup or overall not being conventional. As I hate anything conforming to society. Because autistic adhd brain can't stand rules and social norms. I literally go to the supermarket dressed like a rich Russian lady in heels sometimes. I'm only one of those things as in partially Russian not rich. Or I wear the brightest most obnoxious thing I can find. My favourite items at the moment are chains, super wide black cargo pants and a manly looking cropped tanktop. It's literally what I've been wearing the past two weeks with my platform sandals and a bucket hat. And that makes me happy. And as Felix said in his post: "If you don't like it then fuck off. It's your problem, not mine"

9:09 well, if you don’t mind that the gay representation isn’t the protagonist but a main character, that book selection sounds like warrior of the wild. A Viking inspired story about a girl who would have been chief but was betrayed by a boy and sentenced to the wild with a task to kill a god in order to be accepted back into the village who makes friends with two guys living in the wild in exile with their own tasks as well.

9:00 I think it is actually talking about the gender of the protagonist, because while all people can enjoy all books, there are also trends correlating genre and protagonist gender (romance and war are the most obvious candidates, but horror and lgbt+ also fall into that category in my experience)

Yes, but it's bullshit regardless. Genre is more important than gender on any scale. And the fact that someone wanted to put lbgt as a genre (which is dumb enough on its own) and then shoved them to the girl lead category shows how little thought was put in there.
