So what are the other reasons for an SD/TF card error? Because I *did* follow your guide step-by-step and I'm getting the same issue- and the only fix people keep repeating is the same one you have and it's driving me nuts; there's only so many times a man can reformat an SD card before he starts to go insane- pretty please help.

Have you tried a completely different card the final reason could be bad sectors on the card causing it to read incorrectly even if you do format it to Fat32 with 32kb.

@@DNAMobileGaming I have not, the only other R4 card I've ever had is the very first original one- and I haven't known where that was for years now. I *have* tried a second SD card, but the result was much the same with that one; SD/TF error code; I've even tried going to the website on the box and getting the latest files from there and it's the same message

So, what about the ones that say 'Real Time save' because i saw it written on a R4i Gold Pro. Can these files work with that one too? This is so confusing sometimes. It looks like the one in the thumbnail with 2024 marked on it

Hi I have a problem with my R4 SDHC 3DS DSi Dual-Core without any of those stamps like new,2024 etc. I have done several tutorials but can’t seem to make my R4 card to work. Idk if there is something wrong with the card itself or the SD card. It doesn’t seem like it’s the SD card. Every time I put the card in and press play it says the following lines: An error has occurred. Press and hold the power button to turn the system off. Please refer to the operations manual for details. Should I buy a new R4 card and give up on this one? I have tried it on devices 3DS and dsi xl

What is the size of your SD card? Did you format it properly to fat32? Does your card say Smart Update or Real Time Save? Many variables to consider with the R4 card.

Retry putting the files on your SD card if it's the correct files that is.

The registration key is in the readme you need to turn off your internet connection so either turn off wifi or disable your ethernet connection before enabling it as it's a modified version of the program so you can get the outdated program for free use.

R4 cards are one of those things where an impatient person is better off finding a vendor that includes an SD Card with it. Just back up that particular SD Card, find out if it has a time bomb, remove that. Then put it on a decent SD card like a SanDisk, Samsung, or something else similar. I've got several R4 Cards, and it amazes me how irritating the Chinese cloners have made the market. I'd probably have way more than three if they were just straight forward and easy to use. I'd love to have a stack of them in case one of them failed on a hardware level, but since I can't just rely on being able to pull the SD card out of one and put it in another, those three are all I have.

I followed the R4 Revolution guide and put all the correct files on yet still get the "Can't open_DSmenu.dat". When I open the Twilight Menu and go to "dsimenu" "themes" and then "default" it shows a notepad with the text "This folder is empty so the default will be used" and nothing else within.

You may have put the wrong TWilight Menu on your card then in that case.

Could be sd card, cartridge reader, or the r4 card itself.

The reader for which your game cartridge is placed in is the cartridge reader. If it's dirty or on the fritz it can cause your ds console not to read the r4 or any games
