I remember my first shiny. It was spearow that I found outside of cerulean city in leaf green. I knew it was special somehow but didn’t know what shiny was, though I still captured it. Then I realized the stats were no better than a normal spearow and promptly boxed it. Also that same year my ds with my copy of leaf green and my copy of Diamond somehow disappeared into thin air while I was at church. I left it at the house because my parents wouldn’t let me play it at church, on my nightstand, and showed mom so she knew I wasn’t sneaking it in, and when I got home, it was gone. We looked everywhere around the house, it it was gone. Everything else was intact, nothing was stolen but it just.. disappeared

I agree. I think if he says that he's only gonna use shiny pokémon he should also only use shiny pokémon. The starting Pikachu might be shiny locked but that doesn't mean that he has to use it. He can get it off the team. I don't care that he used it to get his first shiny but you can't say "only shiny pokémon" if he used it in future battles

I only started getting into shiny hunting in sw/sh, and tbh most of my shinies came from being lucky and joining peoples online raids who happened to be hunting. Not to mention the fact that the pkm company seems to be giving them out like candy this gen with how many events they've had this year with boosted odds. This comment had nothing to do with the video i guess, but i hope it helps with the alg0rithm lmao.

Personally I really love the boosted odds this generation. Who wants to spend months or years trying to get a shiny when you can get it much faster now. Especially dynamax adventure which has a 1 percent change of shiny

I've only ever encountered two legit shiny pokemon in my 15ish years of playing pokemon. A shiny tentacool(which I knocked out) and a shiny Torchic, who I have still and is my favorite pokemon

Really? Ive encountered many shinies (legit). Full odds is rare though. Mine were: (full odds) Oddish (Chrystal) Wigglytuff (Egg, Chrystal i think - the gift mystery egg) Zubat (Ruby i think) Espeon (Sword) Bronzor (brilliant diamond) Might have forgotten one or two cant remember. The other ones i hunted (never hatched a shiny tho except the one above - no luck even with masuda and shiny charm). I prefer the Sos chaining method in sun/moon - once.set up it is basically a waiting game
