Seems hard to believe that in 2 years, Ray would be dead by his own hand. He seemed like he was having lots of fun and enjoying life. :-(

He really turned up the southern accent for this episode.

Was it really necessary to cover the survey board with CGI when they adapted the set for Dawson's version? I thought the dot matrix display was okay.

+Tubewings I think it was just a case of making the show look modern. Davidson's TPIR had that video wall, and even Pyramid in 1991 had those video trilons, but those really made no sense. Redo the small pyramid, but out of fear of malfunctions, leave the big pyramid as it is? This wasn't exactly the smoothest use of technology, but it didn't look nearly as odd as it did with Pyramid.

Exactly what it was. In fact it's the whole reason Jonathan Goodson made all those changes to this show for Dawson's season, as well as glitzing up TPIR for Davidson's edition -- to make the show look more "modern" to attract a younger audience.

Was this 1994? I thought the Opryland episodes aired in 1993.

+supremetaco You can barely see it because of the credit crunch, but the copyright is MCMXCIV. I thought they all taped in 1993 myself, so I double and triple checked it. If you can pause the video at just the right moment, you should be able to see it.
