That's pretty cool! If I had the space I'd get one for sure. I still need to look into that community garage that has all the tools and machines. I'm sure it'd be a good place to change tires and such.

It's a very handy yoke, probably one of my favorite things I've bought from a tools perspective cus it's never going to be not useful. Definitely do, somewhere like that with everyone chipping in for one, if nothing was there already, would be absolutely ideal.

Great review on a useful bit of kit. They are priced at $1200 here in Australia (approx $810 US).

Thanks amigo :) Oh my that is a bit pricey, how many sets of tyres would that be down there so on order to pay itself back? (Genuinely interested)

@@scotty_beast_rider it's honestly way handier than I was even hoping it'd be tbh, can literally have the two wheels off and tyres changed in an hour easy.

It is indeed!!! The hassle of actually going somewhere to get it done is enough for me to get this.

That system looks awesome. Lot better than my sidecar mounted system to remove tires hah. I bet having some kind of quick release mount to keep the base stuck to the ground would help a ton. Like maybe a way to hook into eyebolts you put in the ground. If I had more use in it I'd definitely get one. Good watch and interesting idea anyway. No tire warmers for me or those tires since mine are knobby flat top tires :)

It is!! Ah but is it as ingenius as the sidecar mounted system? :P Yeah actually that'd be a great idea if it was my garage, just quick hooks even. Now that said on any newer tyre I have never moved it, these things were just absolutely welded on there. Yeah that's the big thing, you'd really want to have a group of people or be doing track days etc imo. Thanks amigo! Haha fair enough :P

Certainly a good piece of kit! No economic case here. Fitting just happens when you buy. Those tyres would not fit my beast🤣. I think it highlights the way bike culture has changed . . . Tyres are generally bigger and heavier these days. The fix at the side of the road with spoons is no more. The prices of tyres is frightening but then the quality/technology of the tyre is on a totally different level now. When I was racing there was no such thing as tyre warmers and specialist tyres for the tracks was in its infancy. I feel perhaps that the tyres are too good now. Do we need them to keep advancing of the bikes we are buying have ABS and million axis IMU's? A good demo video. 👍

Pricey but it's one of those things it's worth investing in here I suppose. It's kind of like a micro view in to an industry for me, people are crying out that people don't use dealers anymore etc, when you're so expensive that it makes sense for me to buy all these tools myself it's telling imo. There is an issue somewhere. Fitting when buying would be nice, but the cost to have tyres fitted without taking them off yourself here would literally make you burst out laughing, I'm talking 150 a wheel for FITTING in some cases. They are, I think the tech for tyres is one thing I'll always support advancements in, sure it makes it more difficult to repair roadside but plugs worked for me several times despite not being perfect. To me the tyres are the single most important thing on the bike, without them nothing else works right. Very fair point tho on where the line is vs the cost of the improvements, as tyres now are insanely expensive. Warmers are nearly a necessity as so many have them now they're at 100% out of the gate, makes it very hard to run a few warmup laps.

Let me tell yah. This summer, I I changed a few wheels with irons. Well, on one I banged my knuckle as you do. It cut pretty deep, but whatever, carry on. Well, a week later I developed a pretty bad infection... tried to treat it at home, but woke up with the red streaks all up my arm and some pretty bad pain in the armpit. Yikes. ER said I was on my way to sepsis. Lots of IV antibiotics. My point? This tool seems to be worth the money if you are doing tires!
@TheGorillaBiker10 күн бұрын
Jaysus I'm glad you're ok! Literally impossible not to beat the hands off yourself swapping tyres with irons. I once accidentally punched a spoke and bent it to go along with the sore hand 😭 And yes, definitely worthwhile for the easier life alone!

@@TheGorillaBiker Yep, just use polysporin and bandaids I guess. Doc said, in a world without antibiotics they would have either taken my arm, or I would be dead! lol. All good now. Sad to die from changing the front tire on a 1983 GS1100 LOL

It is a cracking bit of kit... I can confirm, my knees do not like kneeling on tyres while trying to wrestly spoons... thankfully I on'y change my dirt bike tyres on the Beta myself rather than big bike tyres, and I can do them in my living room as I don't have a girlfriend to object! 😀
