Former Catholic here. I have read the Bible, Quran, Book of Mormon, some,not all Talmud, Gita, many Vedas, Buddhist writings, etc. Much truth in most of these. None have the complete truth. Humans are the apex of creation. We seek meaning. No religion can be proven true. Some can be proved false, sorry Mormons. All take faith. I can’t prove there is no god, but no one can prove there is a god. I don’t like any of god’s fan clubs. If god does exist, I have many questions and could never worship her based on the current state of humanity as well as the heinous things god did, or at least condoned.

@@mathgod The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people, and proclaimed before them the Ten Commandments. The entire Jewish people personally experienced that revelation, each individual in effect becoming a prophet, and each one verifying the experience of the other. With their own eyes they saw, and with their own ears they heard, as the Divine voice spoke to them, and also they heard God saying, "Moses, Moses, go tell them the following ..." They did not receive the occurrence of that event and accept it as some claim or tradition of an individual, but they experienced it themselves. That public revelation, therefore, authenticated the bona fide status of Moses as a prophet of God, and the Divine origin of the instructions he recorded in the Torah. That, and that alone, is the criterion for the belief in, and acceptance of, Moses and his teachings.

No wonder you did not read about the Godhead. You believed in a word that was nowhere to be found in the bible - the trinity. God made man in his own image. Soul, body, and spirit. Father, Son, Holy Ghost. Lord Jesus Christ. Three parts not three separate persons.

@@mikemaid5350 I KNOW ALL of the Christian doctrines and belief systems which all evolved and stems from ancient Egyptian and Zoroastrian PAGANISM. Christianity is a PAGAN religion and a BLOOD SACRIFICE DEATH CULT. Your mythological godhead and trinity don’t exist…it’s ALL MYTHOLOGY. Do the REAL INTENSE RESEARCH about the history of Christianity and the New Testament and you’ll find the REAL TRUTH about Christianity…you HAVEN’T done the research…Jesus was not the son of a mystical god, there was NEVER such thing as a virgin birth or a resurrection…those are all PAGAN mythology belief’s…it’s all fictional stories and myths. Do the research and start studying ancient mythology and PAGAN religions and you’ll see that Christianity is the same thing. You should most likely get rid of your Christmas and Easter because those developed from PAGAN religions in which you know NOTHING about EVERYTHING I’ve mentioned because Christianity won’t reveal these truths because if they did it would be the TOTAL END of the fake Christian religion which would be the best thing that could ever happen. I was a Christian for over 30 years and then started seeing that the New Testament DIDN’T add up with all of it’s contradiction’s and lies. The gospels are a total mess and Christians don’t even know that Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John didn’t even write the gospel’s…they are all forgeries along with the rest of the New Testament. In fact NOBODY knows who wrote the 4 gospels. I recommend for starter’s that you watch the documentary ZEITGEIST right here on KZbin and start reading mythology. The REAL JESUS was an Egyptian warrior…DO THE REAL RESEARCH AND WAKE UP.

As a former JW , one thing that was crystal clear , even from the Greek scriptures , was that fact that you had to perform mental gymnastics to make the trinity fit the narrative. There is even less solace to be found in the Hebrew scriptures for the trinitarian, if read with honesty ,the concept is absolutely crushed time and time again. Rabbi Singer is very articulate and learned in his dismantling of the myth.

They became scattered groups it wasn't until the Renaissance that a true reflection came more fully into the light one example being a man called Michael Servetus who was burned at the stake by Calvin for rejecting the false doctrine of the Trinity but rather than silence his message his death galvonised others it wasn't until the modern age that the congregations of old were restored.

*Mark Babiuk:* Sounds like you're on the right track - may God continue to bless you as you seek out His Truth!! If you buy yourself a Tanach (Hebrew/English Bible, comprised of the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings, i.e. Psalms, Proverbs, etc.) you will see for yourself what God actually said to us on Mt. Sinai, as compared with the falsehoods preached by the grossly twisted, mistranslated Christian 'bible'. Rabbi Singer's 2-vol. set of books entitled "Let's Get Biblical - Why Judaism Doesn't Accept the Christian Messiah", would be a great help to you in helping you understand the vast differences between Judaism and Christianity, and why no Orthodox Jew will EVER accept "Jesus" as the Jewish Messiah.

@@criticalargument8667: Yes, the Torah is the "word of God", that was given to Moses on Mt. Sinai. "Science" is MAN-MADE, largely Godless discipline, therefore it carries NO weight in the Truth of God. That's not to say that Science has no value, because it certainly does - it's exploration of our world helps us to better understand how it works and actually shows us that everything that it explores didn't just suddenly 'appear out of thin air on its own', but, in fact, has a Creator. I don't know if you're a Christian or not, but the ENTIRE world (except maybe for Athiests, Buddhists, Wiccans, etc.) believes that God gave His instructions to Moses on Mt. Sinai, outlining how He expects us to live in His world and explains how we all got here. If you actually read the account of creation in the Bible it explains how we all got here - nothing else makes sense. You either choose to believe that there is a Creator who created our world, or you don't - but the evidence that this world has a Creator is OVERWHELMING because of the variety, complexity and minute detail in everything all around us. God cannot be 'proven' except in relation to what I said above, that the sheer complexity of our world confirms to those of us whose eyes are open, that there is a Creator, and we owe Him our allegiance, just by virtue of what we see in His creation.
@janishart5128
@janishart5128 4 жыл бұрын
@@criticalargument8667: That's your 'opinion', and the 'opinion' of Science - as I said, Science is irrelevant, concerning spiritual matters. "Science" has made statements about their findings about the physical world, and later retracted what they said because they found OTHER 'proof' that confirmed their first 'proof' was in error! So you can't rely on 'Science', if you can think for yourself - I don't mean NEVER rely on Science, but it needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as it were, and we need to use our common sense when listening to what they tell us. You either believe in a Creator of the universe and choose to see what's in the world around you, or you don't. YOU have to see it for yourself. Your 'opinion' on 'reason' is illogical - 'reason' brought us the philosophy of Hitler (may his name be cursed forever!!) and the Germans, who were oh-so-enlightened, but who stood by and did NOTHING while that filthy monster SLAUGHTERED over 6 MILLION innocent people - just because HE deemed them to be 'inferior' according to his own sick, demented standards!! So 'reason' is irrelevant! GOD, Creator of the universe, is the ONLY source of teaching for the way we are to treat our fellow human beings. That's what His Torah is all about - the whole reason He gave us His instructions on how we should live in His world! That people have chosen to ignore what He said, and depend on their own 'reason' and 'Science', is on humanity - NOT God! You have never actually STUDIED the original Jewish Hebrew scriptures that God gave to man, therefore of course you would see the Bible (Hebrew Bible!) as filled with confusion. It's really not - it only appears that way to the unlearned. That's why we need to learn from the Orthodox Jewish rabbis, who have been studying the original Hebrew of God's ETERNAL (i.e. STILL in effect today!) Torah since Mt. Sinai. God Himself told us to listen to the rabbis (who He tasked with teaching us His Torah), first of all, because they are the ONLY people eminently qualified to interpret the Hebrew scriptures for us, since they have been studying it since Mt. Sinai - and beyond that, if these rabbis teach us wrong teachings, they are directly responsible to God for what they have taught us, and will suffer the consequences when they stand before Him on Judgement Day. When God told us that His Torah is Eternal, that means that He ensured that He would protect its integrity down through the centuries - otherwise, there would be no point in His telling us His Torah is Eternal, and that it is to be followed forever.

Thank you, Rabbi Singer, for all your videos and wise explanations. Most xtians have no understanding of the historical /spiritual (pagan) mindset of the known world at the time xtianity was founded. I'm glad you bring that out so clearly. I once read that a church in Rome has the god Mithras in the basement. ..said to be of virgin birth, visited by 3 kings with gifts, and having 12 disciples. Upstairs in the same church was JC on the cross, also said to be of virgin birth, visited by 3 kings bearing gifts, and followed by 12 disciples. Today's xtian populace is totally unknowingly following a pagan religion. I hope all your time and effort helps some of them realize this and go back to the teachings of Moses and the prophets.

Catholicism didn't exist back then. Tovia is wrong on so many things. Christianity was forbidden under Diokletian and Christians were persecuted. Constantin also wasn't a Christian back then, but Christianity was growing unstoppably and Constantin had to meet with the Christians in order to achieve stability in the empire. It was when Constantin won a war that he believed the Christian God helped him to win he became a Christian. But he also didn't make Christianity the one and only religion. That wasn't his intention. The trinity wasn't pushed by the empire, it was pushed by the Christians who read the Scriptures.

Yet, the seeds of destruction for the concept of trinity were sown and I have studied the subject for many years hence. The Council of Nicaea was a critical junction where the slosh of Roman emperor worship and the god-of-the-day ran into the upstart Pauline version of Christianity. As you say, the Unitarians weren't there, maybe not invited to the party. So, what we got is a doubling down for century after century of a politically-motivated theology that doesn't really make sense. Heavy sigh.

It was when Constantin won a war that he believed the Christian God helped him to win he became a Christian. But he also didn't make Christianity the one and only religion. That wasn't his intention. The trinity wasn't pushed by the empire, it was pushed by the Christians who read the Scriptures.

Thank you Rabbi Tovia Singer. We have many things in common, specially the love for the Book of Daniel, i find it special and it is so important in my life that i have tried to memorize Daniel's prayers and thoughts. In my opinion, a person that seeks for the Truth seeks for G-d even if it is even atheist sometimes even scientists; however, from my Catholic background, when i started reading scriptures especially the Old Testament, i found several conflicts between what it is considered the foundation of Christianism (Old Testament) and the Gospel itself! Putting all personal preferences to one religion or the other aside, how do you reconcile centuries of control in this age where everything can be proven wrong? What do you teach your children when they start repeating sentences or prayers that don't make sense at all? I've looked to other religions and in the end i truly respect the positiveness and drive that millions of Christians practice worldwide however i am truly respectful of the nature of G-d and how we can best serve Him. Greatest respect for the accurate knowledge conveyed here. That said two points to maybe make clear. The council of Nicea addressed the divinity of Jesus, it did not establish the Trinity, that was about 50 years later. The last thing dealt with at Nicea was Heretics, and how to banish them. This was eventually expanded to include death & led to the slaughter of countless millions in the following centuries. At first Gnostics & Unitarians, later Moslems & of course recently 6 million Jews. The greatest tragedy may have been against the native American Indians, estimates as high as 30 million dead. All this guilt on the hands of Orthodox Christians, can it not be said this religion has given God a bad'name?

@andrewsuryali8540
@andrewsuryali8540 5 жыл бұрын
Arians were Trinitarians too. We now consider them non-Trinitarian because their idea of a Trinity doesn't fit the formal definition of equal and indivisible Trinity we have now, but the Arians weren't Unitarians and definitely had three persons in their godhead too. They also insisted on the full divinity of the Christ (Arian doctrine emphasized that the Son is God). "Orthodox" Trinitarians and Arians both trace back their understanding of the Trinity from Origen's theological model. Alexander and Arius' conflict wasn't over the existence of the Trinity; both believed in three persons in the Godhead. What they disagreed on was HOW the three persons of the Trinity related to each other, which resulted in differing Christologies. In Alexander's view, Jesus Christ is not a creation of God the Father but an emanation of God Himself. In Arius' view, Christ is also an emanation of God but the person Jesus is a creation of this emanation. This is why the final battle of the debate centered around the terms homoousion and homoiousion: Was Jesus Christ of the same or of similar nature to the godhead? Neither questioned the Christ's divinity. They just disagreed on Jesus' nature, whether he had been a created being or not. If Arianism had won out, we would now have a form of Trinity anyway, just slightly modified. Ironically, the same would have been true had Athanasius not been on the scene and only Alexander's unmodified view had come to define orthodoxy. BOTH Alexander's and Arius' positions have been rejected by the modern Church because they both relied on Origen's idea of emanations of God which is now considered heretical. This is largely thanks to Athanasius coming up with the notion that emanations imply hierarchy, which lowers the dignity of the Christ in the godhead, resulting in the creation of the doctrine of Homoousian Trinity we have today. This is the root of the modern Trinity becoming equal and indivisible. Alexander escaped the same condemnation leveled on Origen mostly because of his opposition to Arianism, not on the merit of his understanding of doctrine. Nicaea was a battle between Orthodox Trinitarianism and Arian Trinitarianism which resulted in the out-of-nowhere victory of Homoousian Trinitarianism, which rejected both.

the New Testament clearly says He is God. Even John the Baptist said "After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’" John was born before Jesus, but John knew that Jesus existed before coming to earth to take up human flesh. There are times where Jesus forgave sins in the bible; only God can forgive sins. After Jesus was resurrected, Thomas called him "My Lord and my God" in John 20:28. In the book of John it says Jesus was the "Word of God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God" Your problem with understanding this, is that you believe Christians are saying Jesus is the Father. Jesus humbled himself to become man and this is why we see Him asking the Father for things and saying things like "the Father is greater than I." He came as a submissive servant to God the Father. In Matthew 23:34, 37 He said that he himself sent Israel prophets in times past and that they refused Him. In John 5:23 He said all may honor Him just as they honor the Father. Even in the gospels there are times that the Jews wanted him dead "for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.’” John 10:33. Jesus never denied being God. He is God the Son, NOT God the Father. Two separate beings, but of the same substance, eternally coexisting.

Nico Not even close. I suggest you get your information from Jewish scholars instead of Christian sympathetic liars. The Jewish faithful have had a proper relationship with God (wrestled with God) for more than 4,000 years. The information you've adopted is a current affair, that was initially from the time of its inception in 325 in Nicaea, who took the Jewish scriptures and gutted them by adding and taking away from the word of God (the Torah) and the chosen prophets of God (the Haftorah). They (Constantine) the one in control at the time, took their own beliefs separate from the Jewish bible, and reimagined a whole new approach that helped catapult the Pauline scriptures and the unknown writers of the four gospels, designed by the Roman Empire to inflict death to not only the Jews, but also the Christians as well. In fact, there were more Christians killing Christians than Romans killing the Jewish people. This sick and twisted Empire of the Romans along with Constantine was causing confusion and death surrounded by the falsehood of lies, worthlessness and futile things, to ultimately bring about the demise of both parties, throughout the generations, and unfortunately our fathers for the past 800+ years had fallen for it without truly investigating the matters of what they had done a 500+ years before. The gentile nations are unfortunately in for a surprise. God made a promise with the children of Israel. God made a promise with Israel. Nobody else can make that claim. Think of that for a moment. God chooses the least expected. Sometimes the least expected became the least expected through ignorance. Sometimes the least expected is because something new came along and said to not worry anymore about what came before, we got something better, but the better was just a test, to know whether you were really actually paying attention or not, the way you were really supposed to. Don't just read Christian scholars input. Because sometimes what you consider is the enemy, actually is a friend with good intentions. Know your enemies. (An explanation in laymen's terms) Shalom

Just for clarification of what I was taught studying the Trinity: Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning God (The Father) created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God (The Holy Spirit) moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, (John 1:1 God's Word/Jesus) Let there be light: and there was light; Genisis 1:27 (we are made in the image of God, therefore also a trinity: body (earth suit) , soul (heart and mind), spirit (Genesis 2:7: God breathed His Spirit into man); this can not be substantiated in The Tanach, thank you for your teachings, Rabbi Singer!

Scientists say that if you were to put one single grain the size of a grain of sand from the Sun on the earth, everything within 90 miles of it would perish. Yet these silly trinitarians are trying to tell everybody that all those people saw God? OUCH....THAT WOULD HURT!!!

So first Jesus is a preacher, then he's a son of God, then he's The Only Begotten Son of God, then he is equal to God, and now I hear more and more Christians referring to Jesus as Father God Jesus. This last title to me is the final and complete break with the God of the Jews and Judaism and solidifies the connection of Jesus to the Greek god (Zeus) and the Roman god Jupiter.

The Council of Nicaea was not called in order to 'vote' on the divinity of Christ - Christ's divinity was already accepted by all Christians and had been since the earliest days of the Church. The Council was called to discuss the Arian heresy which did not dispute the divinity of Christ but rather disputed His co-equality with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Much to Constantine's annoyance Arianism was not accepted by the Church and the only 'vote' that took place was the unanimous affirmation through the Nicene Creed which rejected the Arian heresy.

Jesus is the Word, is your word from another entity? Neither is God's Word separate from himself yet God's Word is what created what we see, just read Genesis! God Spoke (which in case you need an explanation is God's Word) Every time God Spoke His Word Created something. First it was Light, then it separated the waters, created vegetation, etc.. The New Testament declares Jesus is that Word from the birth of Jesus! Mary was over shadowed by the Power of the Most High, that power is God's Word and in Philipians 2:7 Rather He (God's Power) made Himself nothing by becoming a servant and taking the very nature of being a human! So though Jesus had divinity in His Spirit, the Divine purposefully remained a servant which is evident in the temptations Jesus encountered. What person in human history would be tempted by turning a stone into bread? Only the Power inside Jesus would be tempted and that Power rejected the temptation! The Hebrew scriptures speak in many instances that God will be with us, it's the very essence of the name Immanuel and Jesus is Immanuel! Did anyone ever think that the enemy, Satan, would purposely create a Pagan system that would emulate the true Faith so that when God exercised His plan (which Satan knew of) we would reject that plan based off of the system Satan created! My point is that Jesus while having the Power of the Most High within Him, that power was challenged to not impose itself onto Jesus the person as Jesus the person had to suffer everything we suffer! Hunger, Pain, loneliness, rejection, praise, laughter, pity, remorse, Joy, etc... I don't know about you but I am comforted that God chose to know us so intimately!

@@pardes7342 There have been many great rabbis among the Jews who came to faith in Jesus. But you have probably never heard of them, since the Jewish community casts them out and slanders them as soon as it comes to light that they believe in Jesus. Rabbi Dr. Daniel Zion, Chief Rabbi of the Bulgarian Jewish community during the Holocaust, Samuel Isaac Joseph Schereschewsky, he was born to an Jewish Orthodox family who founded a University in Shanghai, and translated the Old Testament into Chinese, Rabbi Stern, who was a rabbinic scholar, known for his sharp knowledge of the Talmud, Rabbi Slostovsky, a teacher in a Rabbinic School and the Secretary of the Rabbinical Court of Jerusalem, Rabbi Wertheimer, a rabbi with academic degrees, who became a very popular speaker. My Favorite: Rabbi Yitzhak Lichtenstein he served in several synagogues until he became a regional Rabbi in Hungary. One day, he decided to read the New Testament because he thought that it was the source of all the blood libels, and that it was the reason the anti-Semites threw stones at him during his childhood. But what he found, to his surprise, changed his life and his heart forever. After thorough research of the Old and New Testaments, he came to the conclusion that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah that he had been waiting for all his life. The Rabbi also translated the New Testament into Hebrew and it matches beautifully with the Tenak! How about Rabbi Israel Zolli, Rabbi Zion Daniel, Rabbi Dr. Muller, Rabbi Joseph Teichman, and Rabbi Daniel Weiss? If that's not enough, we can keep going!

@@pardes7342 First of all you start off with a lie in stating the New Testament is Greek! It was first Aramaic/Hebrew which was every Jews language in Israel! The only surviving texts are Greek. No one knows what was in the library of Alexandria that burned down. Continuity from Rabbi Tovia's point of view does not fit because Tovia is an anti Christian teacher. It is his sole purpose to discredit the New Testament but he fails to point out how in the Talmud the way ideas are formed from scripture is developed exactly the same. The difference is the New Testament explains the Hebrew scriptures from a different view point. That doesn't make it wrong, just wrong to Tovia!

I would have to beg to differ with you on that one. There is ONE translation that is unbiased in its translation from Hebrew to English called "The New World Translation" and here is what one Hebrew scholar had to say about it: The Hebrew scholar Dr. Benjamin Kedar of Israel, Professor emeritus of ancient classical Hebrew, former Head of the Department of Old Testament Studies in the University of Haifa and Assistant in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, evaluated the New World Translation as follows: “With Regard to the NEW WORLD TRANSLATION: In my linguistic research in connection with the Hebrew Bible and translations, I often refer to the English edition of what is known as the New World Translation. In so doing, I find my feeling repeatedly confirmed that this work reflects an honest endeavor to achieve an understanding of the text that is as accurate as possible. Giving evidence of a broad command of the original language, it renders the original words into a second language understandably without deviating unnecessarily from the specific structure of the Hebrew. To my English speaking students I always recommend a comparison between the King James Version and the New World Translation by which they are made aware of the objective difficulties in the original text as well as the different possibilities of interpretation. Every statement of language allows for a certain latitude in interpreting or translating. So the linguistic solution in any given case may be open to debate. But I have never discovered in the New World Translation any biased intent to read something into the text that it does not contain” - Letter, June 12, 1989, translated from the German, UaP.

@@perrycrozier8805: Not ONCE did God ever tell us that we need to be "saved" or be "Christians" to ensure our Eternal destiny. ONLY the false, pagan NT gives us that story. Nowhere did God tell us that He requires HUMAN blood (a purely PAGAN ritual, which He ABHORS!) as atonement for our sins. We don't "need saving" - God tells us that we can turn back to Him anytime, since He gave us free will. All we have to do is SINCERELY confess our sins to Him, repent of those sins (promise not to repeat the sin), and ask Him for His forgiveness. Therefore, the 'Jesus dying on a cross for people's sins' narrative, just did NOT happen. PLEASE do some honest research on how Christianity started, and you WILL discover that it absolutely did NOT come from God, since the NT preaches AGAINST what God said to us at Mt. Sinai.

Another fantastic and factual discussion by Rabbi Singer. Thank you so much for the enlightenment you bring to your viewers. For anyone interested in finding out more about the evolution of Christological thought and debates/conflicts in the early church, you can read Bart Ehrman’s “How Jesus Became God.” This book presents a well-researched documentation of everything Rabbi Singer is talking about here, from theories about modalism, to adoption, to exaltation, to incarnation. The book culminates with the Council of Nicea and the fallout from that event. It’s not a huge book and is easy to understand.
