Thank you so much for showing this; made it so much easier to do this, along with following the directions in the Manual. Instead of the round bung on the inside roof centre front, my car has a rectangular cover, which 'hinged' from the rear. All fixed now. I'm happy.

Rac - thanks so much. The 2009 TT manual doesn't clarify what fully engaged means for the top lock tool and I was beyond frustrated trying to do this ... until I found your video. One other thought ... bleeding the pressure is a very vague event ... I honestly don't know if I ever engaged the screw driver or actually reduced the pressure (got the top up though). Thanks again ... awesome DIY info video!

That's a great video - thank you. I must admit I'm starting to think the 100% manual roof on my MR2 Roadster was probably a better option than the Audi TT electric roof!

Yet another 2008 TT with a roof that won't come back up and Audi only want £600 to fix it, but wil; do a deal if I have a £300 service, I snapped the thread on my tool and Audi kindly replaced it for only £30 , Audi, the gift that just keeps on giving.... Thanks for the video very helpful indeed and for me and the other 39,514 viewers who needed to put their roof back up, should have been recalled with so many people with the same problem.

Tony Beadle Audi Dallas is asking me 1200 to fix 3 sensors.... do you know which sensors and where to buy it?

Joshua S. I am not sure , possibly under the flaps, the two motors seem to be the problem for many and for others its the fluid level in the hydraulic system which is harder to get to, I have spent a fair bit of time on the forums looking at this and it is possible to fix yourself, many who have had their sensors replaced have found them not to be the problem, but I guess you have to start somewhere and if their diagnostic is showing the sensors as the fault , I also found that one lucky person found that either the sensors or the motors had been recalled by audi and his dealership fixed it for free and he shows the bill, I printed it out to show my dealership and they just said no it hasn't been recalled, so mine is still not fixed.

Tony Beadle thanks. I love my Audi but this ET technology scares me!

Many thanks for the video. I had many problems with the roof closure. This is the first, and for sure the last AUDI car for me. Thanks again.

Awesome Tutorial!!! I did it all by myself! 🙌💪 And, I didn’t break a nail! Thank You!!!
This saved me today. Now that the roof is closed do I need to screw the emergency pressure valve back clockwise or leave it. The top motor seems to work it unlatces when I try to open but doesn't drop down. I hear no motor noices from behind.

not a regular commentator by any means but I must just say thank you for this! Really helped me with a friend last night who's 2007 TT had its hood down for the first time this year that then refused to come back up! Your instructions are great - especially the detail about the crank handle needing to travel the correct distance up before trying to manually unlock. Worth a note that on the model I was helping with last night, the rubber bung is in fact a plastic covering 01:38 and the point at 02:00 still stands but is more about relating the end of the crank to the length of the shaft you have just taken out to know it is all the way in. makes a reassuring sound when the shoulder is making contact. Cheers!

Note: I had to wiggle the tool a lot before it would fully engage the top spinal and go right the way in. Wiggle twist and don't be gentle. It is is impossible to turn it isn't in far enough. Will turn easily once fully engaged.
