What are the manufacturer specs? Do the racecars have a common engine or measurement? Especially for the GT4 guys, I kinda get the idea behind LeMans Prototypes.

The GT4 cars are based on road cars from the various manufacturers. They all have different engines. The way the cars are made competitive against one another is through Balance of Performance. This is a method of balancing the performance of the different cars using weight, ride height, and restricting the airflow going into the engine (which restricts power). It’s a complex process, but the result is a variety of cars with a variety of engines which all produce similar lap times.

WEC need something like the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge

You can consider European Le Mans, Asian Le Mans, and the Le Man Cup as the support series to the World Endurance Championship. It's way to expensive to have a "mini WEC" that travels to every race with the WEC teams.

Dude WEC is the international organization. ELMS and IMSA are national series, not international even though they attact drivers from different series.
