I like that Tabaxi has been implemented as a race, I played one in several earlier editions, and enjoy that I now can play Castor Stormclaw, the tabaxi diviner(wizard). I will purr at friends and claw at enemies, also his familiar is a small songbird called Lucky, occasionally Lucky gets swapped and/or eaten, but reappears soon thereafter thanks to find familiar :) Also, great show guys, I always recommend players listening to your show when before they dive into a specific class or race. :)

My Tabaxi monk looks like a cheetah and is from the savannah in the far south-east of Faerun. And sounds like he's from Wakanda. This video was very helpful in building my character. Thanks guys!
@Haunted_Gallows6 жыл бұрын
Finally a cheetah episode! I've been a DM for ten years, and I've been subbed to you since you had less than 100 subs, and NO ONE, source books included, could tell me if cheetahs outlived dogs or not! Until meow. Ladies and gentlepaws, they've done it. Thank you Will, thank you Brian. You've answered my decade long questions.

My party is playing Tomb of Annihilation and we had recently killed the insane Tabaxi assassin in Omu. My character was also a Tabaxi. The party was talking about giving him a proper burial, but all of the religious characters had failed their religion rolls to remember the last rites of followers of The Cat Lord. So I decided to say, “I don’t know about Chult, but in Maztica we push them off of high edges.” That became canon and now I know what will happen to my character when he eventually gets himself killed. (He tends to think just enough to get himself into trouble. He tried rigging the dinosaur race with a ball bearing trap so that a party member would win. All racers except the party member died including the son of one of the Merchant Lords and my Tabaxi has a huge bounty on his head. The party ran into a young dragon that the party had no chance of fighting head on. He climbed the dragon and tried strangling it by using a chain and crowbar as a garrote and twisting. That did cut off the fire breathe for a few turns before the dragon flew high into the air and dropped him. He would have instantly died if the paladin hadn’t caught him using all of her healing touch. One more point of damage would have killed him instantly and now he believes Tabaxi have 9 lives and he has lost 2 so far.)

Faerun is the main continent you'll find in Forgotten Realms. To the east is Kara-Tur, the south is Zakhara, to the west and south is Maztica and to the west is Anchrome. Strangely Tabaxi was also a name of Chultan human tribe iirc. Maztica is an analog of South America, and in the FR it originally had been invaded by Faerun explorers who were very conquistador like tendencies.

When I get back into D&D with 5e I'm going to do for my character a Tabaxi Gunslinger(if I can find a DM that allows Homebrew classes)who is a Treasure Hunter due him/her being blessed by the Cat Lord with a curiosity and fascination of the Forgotten Realms' history, and folklore/legends. Personality wise I was think about making his/her personality similar to Nathan Drake especially once he/she figures out what the artifact/legendary location at the heart of whatever adventure the party is on is he/she starts going into the more academic-esque detail with one of his/her party going "Will you please cut to the chase and get to the point already."

It's just a little jarring to turn volume down for the intro, then up for the cast, get blasted & turn it down for the first rift into the break (break outro is fine) then turn it back up for the second half of the episode. I'm listening on Soundcloud if that changes anything too.

21:25 For reference just to spread the information, a "butt ton" is a variation on the original term "a** load." A** being the word for a donkey at the time that the term was coined, an a** load was the amount of a certain thing (gold, wheat, stone, etc.), anything, that a single donkey could haul.

I think tabaxi is a great sorcerer. Everything you do is qiuck, like quickened spell and feline agility lmao, I found out you can use feline agility with fly spell as well as mobile goes along with fly speed I’m pretty sure😂 so 70 feet fly base and 140 feline agility and if you get boots of speed your fast as shit😂 and sorcerer is just a great blaster and movement is a great utility for blasting as a glass cannon and if you take at least a level in rogue for athletics expertise you can carry Allie’s out of danger or just drop an enemy from like 70 feet. Gimmicky? Yes, effective? Yes

Alright guys, you keep using butt ton as a synonym for 'a lot of', and here you ask how much it is. A Butt is a Medieval measurement for wine, equaling about 129 gallons, and a tun is a large barrel used in shipping during the age of sail. A butt tun then would be a ~130 gallon barrel worth. This has been a history fact you never asked for.
