You may think you "know" but it wasn't true. She was just bitter and entitled because she felt being there longer and being white meant she deserved more. Taylor was doing better numbers and had better ratings from audiences. End of the day ESPN cares about money and views. They will promote who their audience wants to watch. She was just pissed that Taylor had the audacity to be preferred over her and BLACK.

@@nukesimone6772 kind of a reach, people just blew it out of proportion. She didn’t say nothing outlandish they promised something to her, and tried to take it away in a suspicious period of time. Me being black it’s easy to see what ESPN was trying to do and now everyone else.

Rachel worked hard, was fair and actually respected NBA players and utilized them, played HER role, and knew her role as the TV personality and not a former player, coach, etc. Just seeing how much Malike Andrew's is dropping the ball is a testament to how good Rachel was. Sometimes you don't know a good thing until it's gone and here's a prime example of that.

Rachel Nichols said political stuff, too. Politics is a part of life. It's not like when you play sports you're magically exempt from it or it doesn't exist, it's still there just like it is for the rest of us lol. What I will say is the difference, though, is that Nichols was much better about not showing blatant bias like Andrews does. Her points were also a lot more coherent than Malika Andrews', mostly because she actually listened to what ppl said. Andrews kinda just starts ranting and then you're like, "But, no one said that...what are you talking about right now?"

I agree. As she said, she worked her butt off for many years, and if the contract was as stated, she got ripped off here. Never liked her, but that's just from the POV that they could have hired a model from FHM magazine or something. From day one, I could never stop looking at her teeth, which looked pretty mangled for an upper class person from money, but now it's her body weight ballooning up about 40 pounds. But hey, that's on me. She's about the game being played, and it's the viewer's job to focus on that topic. And this video is about a broken contract, so there.

she had a massive legal strong point and ESPN and her reached a settlement pretty dang quickly... AKA she got screwed out of her dream job, but she walked away with a huge bag... I saw a KZbin lawyer say he'd guesstimate between $8-$12 million (have to factor in lawyer fees and taxes) but if she was making $1.5m to 1.75m a year (also have to factor in taxes)... she walked away with about 5-6 years of pay and then got to sign a contract multi-million dollar contract with Showtime Sports immediately which is rumored to also include points (equity) in the programs she has helped produce... even fractions of a point of equity in these shows add up... AKA AGAIN financially it more than worked out for her, but again got screwed out of her dream job as one of the main sportscasters for one of the biggest sports broadcasting outlets in ESPN (especially NBA rights) and she'll never get that type of shine again

I loved her monologues about NBA players that she did on the jump. I thought she was great at it and sincere. We all make mistakes and things can be taken out of context, but Rachel was very good at her ability to draw a player in and she asked great questions.
