I just want to say thank you Rachel. A couple years ago I had to put down my best friend Maggie. Years ago when she was younger, I didnt have all this advice and know how. I think she would have lived longer had I known what to feed her. I blame the food she was on. She had an inoperable stomach tumor. Vet said she would have died on the operating table. So now, with my current girls, I feed them all the damn (good) things. Thank you! From the bottom of my heart.

Rachel, you are changing the dog food industry! My mini poodle is sprung on the "green" dental chews and she was addicted to kibble. It's because that's what I gave her all of her life. It has not been as hard to change her food as it has been her dental treats...and I give them to her every once in a while because she is a senior dog and I want to give her what she likes sometimes. I noticed on the bag that they are trying to make them more nutritious, and I am sure that it is a BIG thanks to you and the healthy dog movement/summit. Thank you

Hi Rachel, I have a question that I wanted to ask so long, I watched a lot of your raw food feeding vlog, now that I know kibbles is not good choice for puppy/dog , would cooked meat be a good choice than kibbles? I was feeding my puppy cooked chicken with kibbles, but my vet say no table food only kibbles, so I soaked kibbles for my 7 month old bichon. After watched your vlog, I'm still not comfortable with raw feed at this moment, but I want to try cooked meat, do you think cooked meat is better than dry/soaked kibbles? Thank you for all the vlog that you post, I watched alot and you really helped me with my new puppy, thank you!!!

I have taken beef bones and after i use the oven cooking simething, when i turn it off i put the bone in on a tray snd leave it till oven cools. Not cookiing the bone, but dehydrating the tissue. It comes like bacon. And opening the oven time to take out my dish and putting in the bone, the oven temp loses a hundred degrees. So it starts at about 250/ 275. And i can allow doggle to take it where they want.. i dont have to contain her to one spot. She has a spot under a side table she loves.. its cratish. But the carpet doesnt get stained.. this is her chew spot. For everything. I do put a towel under the megas of thevtable but sometimes forget to replace it when i wash it. It dehydrates the meat tissue just enough to not be drippy.

Im a pretty new dog mom. He was very sick. But puppy again .. I bought ONE highend dog treat. Looks like chicken wings dehydrated, but the smell is obnoxioius. Soon as the bag opened, my tail wagging little excited guy.. justcwalked away... 😞. So been trying to find something since. What is on those treats?! Im learning yo make all my own. On a coal/ wood burner. Over night dehydrating on racks at different heights. Recently scored a smoker im using as a dehydrator. Getting good at it. Originally i did this gor my kitchen scraps for me.. apple peels, pear slices, orange slices, lemon, peppees. Bananas. Meats. I tossed a piece of rverything i cooked all winter on it to see how it comes out during overnight burns. They come out so crisp.. and delicious. Sweet potato skins.. amazing.. greens. Crisp and crunchy. And rehydrate in soups.. So ive incorporated much for this Chihuahua.. he was 4 lbs sick when i got him, now he is 7/8 lbs solid muscle and jumps like a deer and scats like a cat at 13 yrs young. He beat a virus that kills 98% of cats and small dogs. Mystery virus in NH. He gets justca quarter cup of commercial food a day. The rest is what i cook for me. ( Not everything i cook for me, but the meats veg fruit. And i only sear his. Take it out, and leave mine to cook longer. I dont boil anything i eat. All roasted or steamed. I have auto immune, so dont consume snything with no nutritional valuue. So this fog wont either.. i know what its dine for mecall my life to keep away from prescription medications, of which id be on 12. But only take 3. And my symptoms that eould be a 90% average about 35. When i eat a treat i normally would not. It shows immediately, so i been able to observe this with doggle. And he walks away from foods he used to normally chow on . He was a vaccuum. Even dog foods that are made of whole pieces of meats. Look like chicken stew. NOPE. not even if for some reason i missed a meal. He will leave it to rot. Lol. Dogs know when a food hurt them. Just likecwe do. But we are dumb enough to ingest it again.. dogs arent.

@lynnemarie78853 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video. I am sure it will help folks. Unfortunately I actually give my 1 year old dog very few chews, because he is a very big dog (Bernese/GMD mix) and he just scarfs everything down. If I give him a bigger chew he does need more time, but sometimes suddenly (even though I am right next to him!) the whole thing is gone! We have had 2 really scary times because of blockage fears. (he just had a tummy ache and it ended well, but we were truly frightened) At any rate, I don't think your options will work for us because honestly, it just won't give him any value (small ones gone fast, big ones too dangerous) It does make me sad, because I know he is much more relaxed when he has a big ole naw for a bit of low key relax time. So for now I am sticking to filled frozen giant Kongs for lots of licking pleasure. (btw he tried to eat his lick mat WITH the food, so even that isn't an option. Maybe my dog is just a weirdo... Anybody else have a dog who will eat the whole thing regardless of size???)

Me: Reading comments on how some chews are long lastings. My Dog, A Super Extreme Chewer: In some cases finished a pig ear real fast ... Like..real REAL fast Although raw bones seemed to last the longest . But Nope. for that I stick with my dog's etreme kong. laced with dog friendly meat floss or peanut butter for whenever I left her alone super safe and I don't need to supervise her.. . Although seeing her interacting with a black furred dried rabbit ear or black cow ear strips is a comedic gold. Because she often interacts with the mirrors on my room, she knew what she look like, and so whenever we gave her those, she stopped. Looked at the chew, looked back at us, and whined. as if asking "Why did you give me my ear to chew on. It's both sad, and hilarious at the same time, and sometimes we need to convince her that it's okay. don't worry, she'll finished it soon after.
