when I was 16 years old, I was a weird version of a goth-ified Avril Lavigne. As an Australian, I have to say that I really didn’t understand the American Uggs as fashionable shoes thing. They’re slippers! Extremely comfy and warm slippers, but still only slippers. They’re pyjamas for your feet, and not to be worn outside the house- unless it’s like a late night Maccas run, where no one cares that you’re in your pjs in public. Don’t get me wrong- I LOVE me some uggs- my feet are cold unless it’s 30C. Though these days I tend to go for the lower slip on types, being disabled and unable to bend down to pull the boot types on. But as much as I adore the confines and warmth (and the fact that I wear them 9 months of the year, basically all day, every day that I’m at home- which is most of the time), I’d never wear them out of the house. Because they’re slippers! (Well, except for the specially designed winter boots they made, which my Canadian friends tell me are the best winter boots ever).

As someone who graduated HS in 2006, I loved it. I was most def guilty of wearing a men’s tie with t-shirt, and the most flarey of flare jeans. Take it easy on yourself with the make-up - we did not have youtube tutorials and we were more interest in a natural look than our 90s counterparts. Face powder, eyeliner and mascara were all we needed.
