Hello Rachel , please I have more question about the Idioms, for example Suit me". How to use
@rachelsenglish4 жыл бұрын
Hi! That expression would be "suits me" - and we would use that to say that something that was suggested works for us, or will work with our schedule. So, if I say, "let's meet at the restaurant at 6," you might say, "suits me" in response to mean - 'yes, that will work for me'.

Hi Rachel, is it legal to download and post your lessons to Chinese website? I’ve learn your lessons for a long time and I love it so much, but most Chinese learners don’t have such high quality lessons like yours. So I’m here to leave this comment. And thank you for all your lessons
@rachelsenglish4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your comment! No, I ask that people do not download my videos and post the lessons to other sites. However, my videos are posted on my website and they should be able to be viewed there - here is a link: www.rachelsenglish.com.

Rachel's English thanks for the link Rachel, but unfortunately, for some reasons YouTobe is not available in here, and most Chinese don’t have VPN. And domestic online English courses are really expensive, I didn’t see any free online courses like yours, and those teachers are non native speakers. So your videos means a lot to Chinese learners.

Hi Rachel! To thanks for another great lesson! I was talking with my friend yesterday, and they told me that although I have a very very good pronunciation, my spanish accents goes all over the place when I get angry. Why is that? Why do I completely lose control of my accent during those situaciones?
@sazji3 жыл бұрын
It’s normal. When you get angry your mind is elsewhere. It means that the movements your mouth makes when speaking English are not completely natural to you yet, but that you’re aware of them and working on it. It takes time to really make it yours, but I bet that even when you’re angry, your Spanish accent isn’t as strong now as it used to be.

Hi Rachel. Do you reduce the word ‘with’ when speaking? For example: She’s at brunch with some friends. Do you pronounce with like wit? Or the th in with becomes voiced?
@Michaelatkins154 жыл бұрын
Nam Vu you can elide the sound or finish with a dental t, and transition into the s sound. Both realizations are possible.

Hi Rachel, thank you so much😍,these episodes are really great ..I wanna know how we pronounce "th" when they come before and after "s" ..for example (with Sam), (was there).Should we pronounce them like Z or S sounds?!?!
@Michaelatkins154 жыл бұрын
Hana Hana you can say wissam and wazzere. Check the th sound on wikipedia.
@rachelsenglish4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Great question! You will hear different things from different native speakers. Often, people do get lazy with the TH and allow it to become more of an S or Z consonant sound. If possible, I suggest building up the tongue flexibility in order to move quickly from the TH to S or Z consonant sounds. It is possible!
